the horse kind of bolted

I mastered a ball (except for the finishing bit which annoys me more than I can say)

So totally loving myself sick, glass of red wine in hand I spent some time on Etsy

And bought a whole rainbow of yarn from Planetpenny. I think yarn could be just as addictive as fabric, now that's a quietly sobering thought is it not. I already think this stuff is too nice to use ( until I get better at crochet) so its just like the fabric I can't cut. Surely this 'stashing' is some kind of diagnosed condition.

And rainbow shoes can only signify one thing: The rapidly approaching end to Long Service Leave means the time has come to think about sensible shoes and work pants and lunchboxes and practicing the 'meeting-face'.

But its not over yet and in about 15 minutes I am heading off to craft camp at Sewjourn. So I hate to love you and leave you but I'm outta here honkies, have a great weekend !

  1. Those must be Docs, judging by the yellow stitching. Give them to me.

  2. Love the shoes - and the yarn - and the ball. So far after having crochet lessons I've only made a washer - love using it though. Must do more to justify the cost of the lessons! Have a great weekend.

  3. Ah, I remember those heady days pre-knitting obsession when I stressed about the amount of fabric in my stash. It seems like chicken feed now that I am also stashing wool around the house in copious amounts and am about to put myself on a yarn ban.

"I think yarn could be just as addictive as fabric"...famous last words, heh, heh...

    Have a great crafting weekend.

  9. that crochet ball is mighty fine Jod...... well done you! I have loads of little hiding places for wool around the house so that Brian doesn't realise the scale of my collection...... it would {literally} knock him over otherwise......

  10. My yarn stash rivals my fabric stash (we won't talk about fibre when you take the plunge into spinning your own yarn...)

    The crochet ball looks fabulous.

  11. yes, yes, stashing yarn is just as bad. Especially when you start with the hand-dyed stuff. which is too nice to knit, or too pricey to buy enough for a jumper and I don't knit socks or shawls very often but it's pretty and I want it and I don't care that I have ooooodles of yarn in the house already.

    do we want a cure?

be havin a BLAST at CraftCamp missus.

  15. Love your choice of shoe colours. I have a couple of pairs of court shoes in exactly the same style but very different colours - one being purple!
Crochet seems to be kind of working for me at the moment as the arthritic bits of my hands seem to take it better than knitting.
I can create ball shapes as well, but they are usually the unintended consequence of trying to make a flat circle shape! So well done to you for doing it on purpose. :)

  16. Oh, Jodie -- my experience as a knitter first and a quilter second tells me that collecting both yarn and fabric is very addictive! And you have the Bendigo Woollen Mills almost right on your doorstep!

  18. You know one of the cool things about yarn is you can knit it, and then unravel it and knit it again. I am sure that crochet works the same. I have a yarn stash, but it is under far better control than my fabric stash.
