My next school holiday kids class is sock monkeys so I thought I'd better get back on the horse and make a few samples for Millrose Quilting in Ballan.
And Bob's your uncle.
If you are hoping to come along to the kids class in the September holidays, give Millrose Quilting a ring and book your spot. We booked out last time. so even though I plan to make a few more, I have crossed this fellow off the to-do list and skipped joyfully back to a new kind of something idea that might just go where I want it to.
(This wee little beginning is keeping me awake at nights)
Hey Jodie
ReplyDeleteI have never made a sock monkey, but would love to learn. I think you need to seriously think about an adult class somewhere for some fun crafting! :)
I do Robyn, at Ballan we have a class where you can come and work on any of my patterns. Everyone does their own thing and I am there to help. Lots of fun!!! I'll let you know when we book another one.
Deleteplease do! They too cute! :)
Deleteaww! loving the look of the wee newby...
ReplyDeleteas my friend Tink says "babby nellyphant!"
ReplyDeletesock it to 'em.
I'm sorry! but somebody had to say it.
no, they did.
really.
Whispers "llama, llama, llama."
ReplyDeleteThat's the most awesome sock monkey I've ever seen. :-)
ReplyDeleteIs his name Bob? I want to make sock Monkey's with you. :o) Oh my goodness a baby elephant...squeal.
ReplyDeleteGoodness knows how you keep coming up with all these great ideas, Jod - but I'm so glad you do!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I need to be looking for some cut socks at target!
ReplyDeleteSpooky! I have just made a zebra from a kit which used two black and white stripy socks. I am afraid to report that my zebra is severely malformed with a head so large he can't sit up without toppling forward. I blame the 'photographs only' instructions and some of those not too clear. I need your class - will you come to France?
ReplyDeleteThe elephant is gorgeous - will he have that little tuft of hair that baby elephants have?
Love your sock monkey.Do you have a pattern or tutorial on how you made it?
ReplyDelete1) I love sock monkeys!! fond memories of my niece when she was 2 yrs old and dragged around a sock monkey! ;p
ReplyDelete2) EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! That adorable elephant would keep me up too!! ;p
You rock at sock monkies!
ReplyDeleteAaaww, love that baby :)
ReplyDeleteThese look such fun!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter just said "that's the best sock monkey I've ever seen"...shame we can't just pop down for a class from Singapore. I'm sure I'm not alone asking about an online cours, or a kit.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a baby elephant with a little tuft of hair.
Oh! I LOVE the elephant. Do hope you'll soon show us more :)
ReplyDeleteI got lost in the monkey pictures... How in the world???? And the Ellie? AWWWW.
ReplyDeleteLove the baby elephant!
