I know that it must seem like nothing new is brewing hereabouts but I have been working. A new bag has just been released, a Creative Card is ready for printing ….
and my newest friend, full of beans and red cordial and backyard circuses is running wild.
He is being tested and tweaked as we speak, and has evolved quite a lot since his very first introduction.
and you know what? When he smiles at me like that, I can’t help but smile back and agree to just ten more minutes on the swing.
(and a name ? Is he still Seamus or is he someone new entirely? Any suggestions?)
Super Munk to the rescue! He's adorable.
ReplyDeleteOh no, he's not Seamus at all! Related maybe, but not him! He's more innocent looking!
ReplyDeleteAgreed Lynne, now to figure out just who he is..
DeleteJodie, your softies have lovely personalities and endearing expressions. Love them all! (but still like Little Red the best.)
ReplyDeletethe greatest compliment a toy maker could ever recieve is that their toys have personality, thanks Diana.
DeleteOh my he is adorable .... better get back to stitching Arthur so I am ready for him :o) .... Seamus the super Monkey!
ReplyDeleteMy very favourite....I'll be making one of these...or maybe 2.
ReplyDeleteDifferent yes but so very much the same too. Just like as all really...always works in progress. Your 'never-satisfied' approach to your guys is one of the very best things about you Jod. x
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes! He is the best!
ReplyDeleteTo me he looks like a Seamus that I once worked with. he had that same cheeky smile. But he also looks a bit like Ed Petrie from CBBC, so made Ed would be good too. He's very cute little fella.....the monkey that is......and maybe Ed Petrie too!!
ReplyDeleteRosie xx
I would call him Kane or Kano. Love him
ReplyDelete**sigh** Don't tell anyone in my house but when my boy smiles at me like that while being naughty I too collapse and give in.
ReplyDeleteAha. The swing explained! Seamus seems a good name for him with that cheeky Irish grin and the green cape. Cherrie
ReplyDeletePity that tyre smells so bad !!!
DeleteHe looks like a Finnegan to me! :-)
ReplyDeletehahha, My dog is Finnegan...such a great name !
DeleteHe has hearts on his feet ♥ I think he should have a suitable super hero name..Seamus by day but Colonel Banana Pants by night..saving the world from blackened bananas one bunch at a time!! (he takes bananas out of fridges and also provides a separate fruit bowl for bananas..risking his life for the sake of a good ice cream split..)
ReplyDeleteThere's a Dora the Explorer episode that has her and a childish King saying 'Banana Pants' to make some turkeys laugh. If the turkeys laugh, they can get past them without being chased.
DeleteI watch too much kids TV.....!
I love that stripy body. I think he is closely related to Seamus and would probably be called Sean.
ReplyDeleteEoghan, but probably because no one can pronounce it. Owain would be better... last native Welshman to hold the title Prince of Wales.
ReplyDeleteThe difference between the two monkeys are incredible. As someone else said, you are so good at working out the details to get something right. I really love the stripes. I know he will be the best friend of alot of boyos!
Sandy in the UK
I think he looks like captin star pants.
ReplyDeleteHe really is quite different -- more brainy to the other's brawn? But I don't know if his name has to change. Perhaps it just took him awhile to shed his disguise and be himself?
ReplyDeleteHe sure is different, and thats kind of exciting to me...look how much I have learnt since that first monkey.
DeleteDefinitely not Seamus but his very cute cousin...you really don't want him to have the name that popped straight into my head...Bertrand - his family call him Bertie for short...seriously awful name for a cute monkey but it won't go away so I'm telling you to get it out of my head...seriously, Bertrand? what the hell am I thinking!!...
ReplyDeleteI agree with the cousin sentiments. Perhaps Splat Man (A combo of Super Man & Bat Man in my middle of the night mind) Plus he loves to make Banana's go splat maybe. He is very cute regardless of the name you choose.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! This boy child will save the world with ...a bunch of bananas? Super Monkey doesnt quite ring true....Benny the masked hero? Perhaps he is able to stop cyclones devestating banana crops...and supermarkets charging $14 kg!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute and super courageous. What a fun little monkey.
ReplyDeleteA name? Melvin maybe?
Enjoy your new friend.
Wow, he sure has changed since his original post. He is adorable and I think he should still be Seamus. He looks like he is having super fun on that adorable tyre swing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutey pants. Quickly get this pattern out I would love to make him!!!M!M!M
ReplyDeleteI love him - he makes me smile. I think he's a lot more approachable than Seamus: more toddler than bigger kid with attitude (but maybe that's just the school holidays talking?!)
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a futuristic Tigger LOL
ReplyDeleteVincent. He looks like he has many talents and a soft vulnerable side but becomes Vinnie the Invincible when he sports his star undies and cape. He has just enough of a spark in him to believe he is a mild mannered monkey like Clark Kent during the day, but superhero whenever needed.
ReplyDeleteBut whatever you call him, he is gorgeous. Congrats on another winner.
I'm so glad it's Seamus swinging in the tree and not you. Not that you couldn't do it...it would just make me feel really really ancient! ;p
ReplyDeleteI love the little guy. Who couldn't? ;p
