Tuesday Rotate–Liberty

Last week on a trip to Millrose  in Ballan, I found the cutest packaging ever!

I stole this photo from their Facebook page by the way.

millrose

yes, that just happens to be a ricrac display – look at those little tins, down near the owl… Kits to make up the chubby birds- crazy on the cute meter.

Of course I don’t need to buy a kit of one of my own patterns, (although I was tempted) that would be bonkers.

liberty1

Instead I bought you guys a present. A tin of liberty!

What is this obsession with cute packaging? I think I would purchase anything if the packaging were cute enough.

liberty2

Once again , there are no hoops to jump through and secret deals, I bought this ‘cause I knew you would love it as much as me. The tin contains ten 10cm strips x the width of the fabric of Liberty Lifestyle Bloomsbury fabric (that’s the craft weight stuff). All up, its a metre of liberty, tiny little tastes of ten different flavours.

Last weeks winner is Maria of The next stage

I am in the mad almost back to work last week of holidays where I try to crazily achieve everything I set out to do at the start of the holidays. Sleep is an elusive beast as my brain rockets into overdrive and I am humming the Long service leave mantra to stop me losing my mind. In a few short weeks I shall be a lady of leisure…..

I can barely imagine what that will look like.

  1. Ooooo Liberty... so pretty. What could I do with that - wallet, small purse, insert on a top, share with my friends, the possibilities are endless really.
Hope those weeks go by very quickly - you a lady of leisure I think not! Too much to do, too much to create...

  2. Very pretty indeed! I've always imagined a lady of leisure swans prettily about in a flowing gown, is fed tidbits of delicious morsels and has her housework done for her. Just a day to myself to create would be great though, especially if someone else made dinner!

  3. OMG LIBERTY!! how I love thee. Have no idea what I would do but for starters I would just sit and look at it for about 12 months .. too cute to touch until then LOL

  8. I think I'd have to pet it for a while before I knew what to do with it. That's a good thing, right?

  15. The Liberty is amazing, but the packaging so over the top adorable I can't believe it. Here in the states Michael's sells those, and now I may have to buy one.

    ReplyDelete
  16. LOVE that packaging so much I'm not sure I could actually use it, I'd have to sit and admire it for a little while at least! When I finally did convince myself to do something, I think a handbag and wallet for special occasions! Or a quilt to showcase it all!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Liberty!!!! It needs to be stroked and fondled... and then eventually used. I could imagine something suitably pretty with those lovelies.

    ReplyDelete
  18. You know - I reckon I would even buy just the transparent tin. how ace would that be for sewing storage. I'll take 50 please! Wonder where they got those.
Whoot for long service leave - I sure you are Waaaaay over due for THAT!

  21. I can't imagine your life ever being one of leisure! Cute packaging is the key to luring us in to buying stuff I am sure! Enjoy your LSL - I took some last year and enjoyed every minute of it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Love the colours of the liberty. I am also a sucker for cute packaging LOL

    ReplyDelete
  23. Me, me, me please. I'd love to add them to my planned quilt. The colours will match perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The packaging is almost cuter than the fabric! But the fabric is gorgeous. If only it was the early 90's - I could make heaps of Liberty scrunchies with that gear!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Very fun looking enjoy your countdown to days of leisure!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love those liberty prints! I can understand everyone's delight at the idea of the tin because the whole thing is just gorgeous.
Keep thinking all those good thoughts about your LSL. My dad didn't take his until he was due for retirement. Under his award, he also was entitled to his sick leave, so when he went and spoke with his management about his impending retirement, they added up all his time - LSL and sick leave - he had six months leave before his actual retirement. What was good about it was that my mother got used to him being around before it all became official. It also gave him the opportunity to clear his shed, have a few garage sales and prepare the house for sale, as they moved from Melbourne to Mildura a few months after he officially retired. He also took up some new hobbies. He wondered how he could fit a job into his life. It was great. So, enjoy the LSL and we look forward to more adventures from the House of RicRac. :) XX

  28. always lovely, Liberty fabric.

  29. I'm imagining that your lady of leisure time involves lots of swanning around in jammies and fluffy slippers with bits of fluff and snippets of thread stuck to your clothes. You just need to find a chaise lounge and someone to feed you grapes?
BTW I am a sucker for packaging too and stationery..the stationery aisle at Officeworks makes me hyperventilate LOL

    ReplyDelete
  30. Love the Liberty and the pail is so cute!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh Jodie,
You won't be a lady of leisure, you will be a frantic crazy lady with no paid job to attend. Hopefully you will be doing frantic crazy things that you love.

  67. So kind to think of your devoted readers! I have an unquenchable lust for Liberty.

What a lovely display of your creations - I took the wooden top off my old Singer machine to woodworm treat it and tart it up but, then forgot all about it, thanks for the inadvertent reminder.

  79. I hear you about the sleep vs brain overdrive caper. I fear that I am slowly turning into a vampire (probs watching 2 whole seasons of Vampire Diaries in the wee hours of the morning has contributed)I dread returning to work at the end of the hols, which are fast evaporating. I am not sure if it is even possible to sleep before 4am any more!!!!
A cutie tin of liberty may just help, as I could go to sleep dreaming of what it could become!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Great photo, but it is hard not to have a great display full of your creations.
I love little tins and containers too. I think it is because you can always find a use for them once they are empty of their original contents. I got excited at Christmas when my SIL finished off her small plastic container of Ferrero Rochers; it is clear and a great size to store things in or carry small projects in when going 'stitching'. I am very easy to please, or i have a very sad life!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Oh, it's all about the packaging! Seriously. ;) Another lovely and generous giveaway. I'm so jealous of your long service leave on the horizon. So. great.

Very cute packages and pretty fabric. Thanks for sharing.

  87. I very rarely win anything, but I'd really give that liberty a good home and find a place for the little tin (adorable!). I'm so glad you'll finally have time off; I can't wait to see what you create!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Tell you what. You can keep the tin if I can keep the fabric. Teehee! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Oh, I love that ric-rac display of goodies, Jodie! My eyes were so glued to your creations that the tin totally escaped my notice... lol... good thing you pointed it out. :o)

  96. This year my sister and I will be starting the epic journey that is creating the Farmers Daughters quilt. This is going to be one quilt we will NOT be giving away to friends, families etc. That fabric would look georgeous as the basis range of my sampler quilt. Please Please Please.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I love the fabric but the tin is so cute I would be happy with just that. What a great shop to visit, although I think I would have come home with more than you did because I am totally a sucker for cute packaging (or reusable packaging). I would probably have bought the kits for your patterns too, even though I have a lot of them, just because it is too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Would LOVE to add that tin of beautifulness to my new quilt ideas. Have fun on the LSL train. Monica
