When I tried to purchase a pack of felt from Sandra of Winterwood during AQM , so I could use it as a Tuesday Rotate giveaway…she gave it to me !How nice is that?
I have spoken before about the absolute deliciousness of 100% wool felt and you know that I use it all the time. I do tend to bang on about it but really, once you use it you will be a convert too.
Even though I buy my felt in larger pieces, there is just something so appealing about a stack of felt squares isn’t there? I find myself imagining a little creature to make for every single colour
Little bears and forest creatures and aquamarine floaty kind of under the sea things
There are no hoops to jump through…just tell me of a little felt creature you would like to see come to life to be in the running to win this felt.
Jude will be standing by to pick a winner next week- and don’t be fooled, he isn’t really reading that sticker – he can’t read upside down.
(last weeks winner is Christina Lowry of Christina Lowry designs.
I have to say I loved reading all the comments about books…as a library chick I read a lot of books and I hardly ever blog about it – it was nice, I might do it again)
Ooooh so pretty!! I would love to make a polar bear, but with all those colors he would have to have a nice pink vest, and maybe some blue shoes :)
ReplyDeleteOoh! Is this some kind of challenge-y thing for you? The blue on top inspires a sea-creature thought. Maybe an octopus? Perhaps a jelly fish? Or a sea-horse? What about a squid - hmm... with a French accént? What a delicious looking pile of felt!
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing stories about an elf on the shelf. I want to make one, but maybe I shall call it a pixie in the mixie. A fairy in the diary. Whatever it will be, will be Christmassy and magical!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a colourful fish or some magical fantasy creature like a pegasus or a dragon or then a whole rainbow of little bears!
ReplyDeleteThat really is one truly yummy pile of felt! A great big thank you to you and Winterwood Sandra for this generous giveaway. :)
Little robot or alien
ReplyDeleteI'd start with a mermaid! Mermaids can be rainbow coloured!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a little alien, dragon or turtle. Or a butterfly, rabbit, guinea pig. Not sure really but it looks like a great range to stimulate the imagination.
ReplyDeleteWool felt is so luxurious, I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be a doll for me, as that is all
I seem to make at the moment!X
it'd have to be an owl, cos I dont' think I'm up to a unicorn and my friend is felt obsessed currently and loves both.
ReplyDeleteThose colours really do look luscious!
If Jude stares at it long enough it will levitate, rotate (!) and be the right way up for him to read the sticker.
I would like to make an elephant for my husband as he collects all kinds of them.
ReplyDeletejchiagan at yahoo dot com
Oh the things I could make!! I have been playing with felt recently, inspired by you!! I must remember to post it on my blog or fb!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try some wool felt appliqué -- one day!
ReplyDeleteHow about something uniquely Australian but not obvious? Like a bandicoot? Quokka? Bilby? Willy Wagtail? Actually, that last one would be great! They are such cheeky little fellows!
Seeing it is wool felt, perhaps a little sheep?! I would love that wool felt!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking a chook. That stack looks divine!
ReplyDeleteI would love you to create a shark pattern, along the lines of your Pickle pattern - so cute!
ReplyDeleteAh, lovely. I've not used felt before but it looks fab. I would like to try and make some fish, so I can use my imagination with the colours!!
ReplyDeleteI'd be absolutely forced to make some lovely babushka christmas tree decorations!!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is obsessed with narwhals and I may have promised her one... No idea how I'm going to produce that one! Have just received my first order from Winterwood after your recommendations - very impressed.
ReplyDeleteHaving two small boys it would have to be a dinosaur (or two)!! x
ReplyDeleteLittle critters for my younger girls would be cute.......
ReplyDeleteOr there is a designer that uses felt accents.........ticked??, racked?......something like that. : )
Ellie and I have been thinking about giving bendy dolls a go! They'll need felt for clothes poor little things.
ReplyDeleteOf course, since I like a stack of soft, sweet rainbow, they may have to stay naked for a little while to give me time to admire it. D
A dragon!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many possibilities but the first that came to mind was a hedgehog with a nice bright scarf! Thanks so much for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a lizard with an Antoni Gaudi feel to it.
ReplyDeleteRegards from Belgium!
I am seeing a multi-coloured octopus emerging from this stack. It must be due to the one my youngest made one year for school dress up day. Wow! What a long time ago that was. Cherrie
ReplyDeleteI see native Austrlain animals like a cuddly koala or blue tongue lizard or frilled neck. Some pretty blue wrens and pink and grey galahs, a wombat or two and maybe a Tassie devil, aussie animals alive!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, gorgeous colours.
ReplyDeleteSorry IPad freeze. I can see a lovely little hamster or mouse family in a rainbow of colours, ooh, or a family of fish, or oooh
ReplyDeleteoooh I just love wool felt! Even better in a pretty rainbow like that. And yet despite the colours I can't get past the idea of an elephant in that lovely grey...
ReplyDeletehey, Jude, can I please win? I have a hot air balloon mobile to make and I dont want to use cheap crappy acrylic felt! Oh, and I'll probably make on of your mum's softies for the bubba too, not sure which yet! Ta.
ReplyDeleteFrogs, frogs and more frogs! A rainbow of lovely jumping clingy frogs. Tadpoles too. Love the felt.
ReplyDeleteOh a cute little bear would be nice I think. This felt looks just awesome !!!! Cheers :)
ReplyDeleteMy all-time favorite animal is a donkey, so how about a lady friend for Reuben? I've only had the pleasure of tiny little smidges of wool felt, so an entire bundle would send me over the moon!
ReplyDeleteI'm dreaming of fox lately. Although, I just read the above this and am thinking a donkey would be rather special.
ReplyDeleteI would make so many little round things! Little spherical cats, fat little robins, pudgy penguins... ooh and I could use some for doll eyes and clothes!
ReplyDeleteElephants and aliens. I have an elephant pattern I've been meaning to make and I'd love to come up with my own alien (maybe in a ship!).
ReplyDeleteI would make a fish, with scales and fins and all...
ReplyDeleteAnd Jude's got YOU fooled, he CAN read upside down. He's just not letting on.
chooks, chooks and more chooks - my daughter & I love our gals.
ReplyDeleteThose squares look so yummy! I would make birds probably, lots and lots of birds.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway
I would start to make ornaments for gifts for next year. I saw a pattern I like but no local source for the felt
ReplyDeleteAre you SURE that cat can't read upside-down? Did he actually say that? 'Cause he LOOKS really smart! And clearly, a mouse should be the animal of choice for all that gorgeous felt!
ReplyDeleteI would like to make a Kitty and duckie and Pocket Pixies. List is long.
ReplyDeletemaybe some sort of sea creature? or a parrot? thanks for the chance to win that felt. I love working with wool.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see a squirrel! They are fuzzy little geniouses. I'm from the USA is it ok to enter? I love your creations! Fabulous felt!!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see some holiday ornaments. Happy holidays.
ReplyDeleteLittle danish heart baskets, I just fell in love with them!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I would love to use these to embellish stockings for next year!
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to get some of this from Winterwood for a while now! There are too many cute little critters to choose just one. First I would try a little cat, and then an elephant and then an owl. And then maybe a mushroom?
ReplyDeletemaybe a wily ferret with a vest, set of specs and a cap. or a raccoon complete with mask, beret and striped sweater accented with a jaunty red neck scarf.
ReplyDeleteI would make an owl or a unicorn; I'm obsessed with both.
ReplyDeleteI have a tiny orange fox made out of felt that needs a friend, maybe another forest creature like a little hedgehog or a badger. I love sewing with wool felt. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWould love to make a collection of zoo animals. And an owl. Thanks so much for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI need to make a squirrel....but I saw an narwhale ornament and have been dreaming of making it now.
ReplyDeletewho am i kidding? i would love to have the wool for my stash! ;p
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see you make a bunny. Possibly a bunny with a top hat. A red top hat. And a bow tie.
ReplyDeleteThese colors are beautiful...I had an idea yesterday of making cute little felt wristlets in the shape of a fox head, and possibly a cat head as well. I think they'd make perfect gifts!

deckedoutinruffles.blogspot.com
A magpie because as I type Mr and Mrs Magpie are sitting on my balcony singing a beautiful song.
ReplyDeleteA family of bears! I know that you think they are just brown, but really they aren't! A panda bear is black and white, a little panda bear is red, a grizzly bear is brown, a polar bear needs a blue jacket and a black bear needs a red hat :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to make a small cat, with a beautiful wardrobe of felt clothes, for my 5 year old daughter Lucinda.
ReplyDeleteMy four year old loves horses so I think I would start with a little horse family.
ReplyDeleteMy four year old loves horses so I think I would start with a little horse family.
ReplyDeleteI would actually like to use the felt to embellish a cushion for Imogen's nursery. And maybe I could make her a felt owl to match her crocheted owl. She could have a collection!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful stack of colours, and Jude, you are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the colours - I'd turn some of it into a creature based on a painting my son has done
ReplyDeleteI was an exchange student in Japan in 1979 and brought home a little craft book featuring little felt dolls in national costume from around the world. I've always thought they would look great in a mobile over a little girl's bed. Well we only have sons, but the time of grandchildren might be approaching in the next little while and the range of felts would be perfect for that project.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you about 100% wool felt. My favorite creatures are birds, blue birds in particular. There are some lucious blues in that stack. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt in indeed a rainbow of animals just waiting to be shaped.
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing a grey seal in the greys. She lives alone, preferring her own company. She has slightly sad eyes, but a wisdom beyond her years. She likes poetry and musical theatre.
On land I'm seeing a tall brown hare with large stand up ears in the brown. He will have a lady friend, also with lovely ears, but she is more an orange-brown shade. They are great fun, and not very smart. They live each day as it comes.
They have a mate in the garden who is a friendly snail also in browns, but much darker. He is the planner and strategist of the group and loves to write lists.
Lastly, and in the trees, green tree frogs, in a series of greens. They watch over everything, are slightly OCD and often anxious given the precarious existence they have in our changing environment.
Delicious. All of it.
I am rather partial to a bit of Winterwood anything really. It is such a lovely store. Those bright colours make my think of coral, jellyfish and sea creatures. How about a hermit crab?!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear!! Where to start with such a lovely assortment? I haven't used wool before but find I am being drawn more to it all the time; a woodland inspiration with flowers, birds and critters!
ReplyDeleteI would love to make some dolls for my 4 granddaughters with pretty clothes and a robot for my baby grandson. Winterwood wool felt is the best! Thank you for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI want to make my boys some dragons, as they are both fascinated with and terrified by them, and I think some cuddly ones might help with the terror aspect a bit. Otherwise, a cuddly lion for my new Leo baby, and a crab for my Cancer toddler. Not sure what to do for my Virgo boy; maybe make that dragon have stars? So many fun ideas!
ReplyDeleteMy little girl is obsessed with giraffes, which she calls Eggy Peggies (and I have no idea why). A handmade Eggy Peggy would be adorable.
ReplyDeletethey all just look great in a pile. love the colours and the texture of wool felt!
ReplyDeleteThose squares look just delicious! In fact, so delicious that I would make play food for my grandies with it. I love some soft squishy play food and so do they!
ReplyDeleteA flowery fairy with a dash of hot pink and lime green comes to mind :)
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about felt squares. something so soft and bright and rainbowy
ReplyDeleteI would like to continue my adventure in mouse making, I mad 2 for the ornament swap and think I'd like to do a few more for friends. Also would like to make an owl or 2 for my neices. Love the rainbow assortment of felt
ReplyDeleteI was standing next to a lady at Spotlight the other day who was buying wool felt - she was going home to make ninja's for her son's martial arts instructors. Perhaps I could make a felt ninja rainbow?!?
ReplyDeleteWell, let's see. I've just finished up an inchworm and a butterfly out of the felt I have left. I think some bunnies might be next if I'm lucky enough for that stack to head my way.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to have a week of making some chubby birds next week so everyone gets one for Christmas! :)
ReplyDeleteI have just brought my friend the owl, hedgehog & red robyn bird craft cards for Christmas, so I could add some wonderful felt to her parcel & just maybe she could make me a friend of my own.
ReplyDeleteI have been knitting tiny little bunnies for baby gifts. So would have to add cute little felty bunnies too.
ReplyDeleteHmmm what about a gnome!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I have a particular fondness for giraffes and zebras. But maybe in unusual colours?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win this generous Tuesday Rotate. I am picturing cows. Lots of cows with their big colourful udders and patches on their hides. Also a big bull with horns. That leads me to another idea: a matador and bull. Oh I am imagining the matador's costume and cape and the bull's pointing horns and flared nostrils. Or just lovely sedate dairy cows.
ReplyDeleteoh oh pick me!!! Oh and is Jude included? I would like to see a chicken softy. Or maybe a dove?
ReplyDeleteSeahorse no doubt about it, just made a seahorse pillow so I reckon I could scale the little fella down to fit a square. BTW just finished two of your 'teeny teapots' and they will be going to nice people for Christmas presents.
ReplyDeleteLots of rainbow coloured penguins .. much more festive than black & white. Would make a cute Christmas garland. Thanks for the giveaway xx
ReplyDeleteI could see a family of cute little felt mice wearing santa hats and little dresses and shorts and tops all ready to celebrate christmas.
ReplyDeleteI would like a gecko with pretty spots.
ReplyDeleteI have a strong desire to make felt food for my kids to play with before its too late and they're too big. That rainbow stash looks like fruit salad to me, perhaps with some chocolate chip cookies thrown in for good measure (and to go with your tea set which's on the agenda too). Of course, if I won I'd have to shift from 'desire' to doing.
ReplyDeleteLove wool felt, what a fabulous stack of it!! I'd like to see you make a saucy little skunk, even though that only uses black and white (maybe with a flower behind its ear?
ReplyDeleteA parrot would be fab!
ReplyDeleteAn "Elf on the Shelf" :o)
ReplyDeletesomething I would like to try : a little elf in green shades , and with green boots and all ..
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - we're dinosaur crazy in our house just now... how would a patchwork dinosaur look? I think I could do some experimenting if I was the lucky winner??!!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAn echidna, that would be a challenge. Small and neat and quiet, snuffling around looking for his dinner. I think his name might be Cyril. I once knew a Cyril...
ReplyDeleteFor me, bearing in mind the time of year, I would make a wall hanging featuring a family of snowpeople wearing lovely bright accessories, with maybe a decorated Christmas tree, and bright parcels underneath. I've been itching to make something to hang on the wall at Christmas, so am keeping my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteJude - you clever clever cat! With those colours it would have to be something underwater. Coral, fish, anenomes?
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be a moose. I just love Mooses(I think the plural is just Moose)
ReplyDeletelyn.robyn.smith@gmail.com
A cluster of leafy sea dragons is what I imagined upon spying that colourful stack of felt!
ReplyDeleteThe blues & greens on top make me think of something fishy/sea horsey...when Snugglepot & Cuddlepie went to the undersea ball pops into my head (just read all the book comments)!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh lovely stack. I'd probably make a tiny teddy for my sons teddy, complete with bowler hat and bow tie.
ReplyDeleteThat orange is jumping out at me, and needs to be a creature. Perhaps a fox? I haven't jumped on that bandwagon yet, but there is something cute and shrewd about them. He did get the gingerbread man, after all.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to have my computer back. Look at all the wonderful postings I have been missing.
ReplyDeleteBirds! Little ones, on a string, like a garland. And bigger ones with some embroidered details. I've been looking at wool felt on the internet (our tiny local fabric supply only has the poly kind), but it is SO expensive! Since I am a quilter, I've hesitated to spend so much money for non-quilting fooling around. But I would love to try it! Thanks for the give-away! P.S. What does "Tuesday Rotate" mean?
ReplyDeletePenguins and Puppies and Bears oh my!! Birdies and tree and bees. Oh the wonderful things I could make with these lovelies!! Kitty seems to like looking at them too.
ReplyDeletemelsdaisypatch at gmail dot com
Hi, what a lovely giveaway, and yes, I can say that this felt is so soft and beautiful that you would never want to purchase the acrylic 'stuff' again!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would make a colourful doll come to life......with bright red felt hair, an embroidered face, a stuffed body with a few 'felt' outfits to dress up in.....and maybe a bag, hat, a pet cat............brooch for her, the list goes on and on.......oh, the wonderful things you can create with felt!!!!!
I would make my youngest son a felt board game, to help him practice counting and taking turns :-) A nice colourful dice (die?) that only has numbers up to 3 (twice), large felt squares in different shades (some marked with cheese and a few with friendly cats), 4 natural shaded little mice to move from square to square, and lots of cheese! It would be a co-operative game, every time you land on a cheese square you put a piece of cheese in the mouse nest at the finish line for everyone to share, and the game is not over until every mouse gets to the end, so you cheer each other on. When you land on a cat she scares you and you drop a piece of cheese (take one away from the nest).
ReplyDeleteAnyone's welcome to use this idea, the more fun you have with your kids the better :-)
Oh, felt. And many colors! It's lovely. Right now, I would make ornaments, and hair pins, and little pins to put on your sweater or jacket. (I don't know if you want to ship to the US--if not, pull me out!).
ReplyDeleteCoresadoráveis,gosto de borboletas e pássaros.Obrigada.tiacarminhapezzuto@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteSanta Claus to get in the spirit of this time of year.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves monsters and princesses so I think I would make a lovely pink monster with long eye lashes (which is her way of turning boys into girls) and maybe a little house for her to live in.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
My 2 and a half year old daughter is currently obsessed with Puff the magic dragon and Angelina Ballerina and makes up the sweetest songs about them going to 'the restaurant' and eating prawns. So I think a colourful dragon in a tutu could be just the thing. That gorgeous rainbow of felt would look spectacular!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I are making hair barrettes to raise money for an adoption--these look lovely. Also, I have wanted to make an Advent calendar out of felt for a couple of years now....maybe I would actually do it if I won these!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
For every child I have I've tried to use a different animal theme - and then made wall prints and stuffed animals from felt. The first was jungle with lots of monkeys, the second was backyard with a focus on birds, and I have always loved the idea of an underwater theme for the next. As you mentioned in the post those colours would be fabulous for it - and I think my focus would be a big friendly octopus with some fish and sea horses too all floating on a lovely mobile. Ooh - I'm getting excited! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteAs those are the most beautiful collection of colours I'd have to say the bird that wears my favourite colours, a blue tit. That stack is screaming out blue tit to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.

I am planning to make a whole group of felt critters for our Christmas Countdown bags. Think an advent calendar on steroids - each bag stands up and will have a little sweetie on it. The first will be an owl for my youngest, then a tiger for my 4 year old, then a frog for my 8 year old and a giraffe for myself. Each of them will hopefully wear little festive outfits (hats, necklaces) and some of the other bags will be decorated with candles, snowflakes and berries. We've been using paper bags for years and I'm ready to use felt and make some permanent keepsakes!

ReplyDeleteWith that beautiful felt I would make a rainbow of lizards for my Grandson. They have a lot of little skinks living in their garden.
ReplyDeleteOh I'd probably have to make multi colored ponies for small fry. She is in a My Little Pony/rainbow mane and tail phase. Bless her heart.
ReplyDeleteThose colours whisper Merlion to me and so much more exciting than the white of the statues.
ReplyDeleteHow strange....I looked at that gorgeous pile of felt and my mind went blank....and then all of a sudden a small but perfectly formed tortoise just popped on in there.
ReplyDeleteSo, it seems I'd be making a tiny tortoise.
xx
Oh the possibilities are endless .. but I guess if I had to make a decision I can see a rainbow of deer. i don't know why but it could be because I'm tired :-)
ReplyDeleteTrees, with a river, and deers, and an owl and some fish and maybe a bear!
ReplyDeleteOh sooo jealous! Am making Chubby birds with felt that's not half as nice as yours! I would like a gorgeous Christmas Elf that can come and help me finish some of my UFO's before Christmas.
ReplyDeletea mermaid....
ReplyDelete:-)
That would make a wonderful array of wee little gnomes! Thanks for the chance to win :D
ReplyDeleteI think some felt ornaments would be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteEvin5 at aol dot com
I think you could make some beautiful, colourful birds. You could have a whole collection of them hanging from a branch!
ReplyDeleteThat stack of wool felt is gorgeous and thick. I just picked up some acrylic felt at a craft store recently and was quite suprised by how very thin it is now, practically see through. Besides a rainbow my first thought was a sweet little snail. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have been itching to try out your party turtles for ages but seems life and a lack of wool felt has got in the way. The pile does look oh so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can sea a seehorse in my future. Not seawhores, they would be hard to make.
ReplyDeleteOh I see a flock of parrots!! All different colours and sizes, flying and swooping and some just sitting together and snuggling. Rosellas and cockies and little budgies squeaking inbetween.
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog (and sewing in general...) but really enjoying it. :)
Good to hear that Jude can read, even if not upside down.
ReplyDeleteCrafty types are so generous. Lucky winner
Not sure if this is still open but if it is I would love to enter. I can see this lovely felt becoming the perfect rainbow elephant for a new baby joining us in may and the left overs to create some sweet gnome puppets for my classroom
ReplyDeleteAhhh.... This is perfect for some dolls hair... or a little bag... or a hat...or any manner of small doll / toy related things... Haven't ever tried the wool felt, and would love to... And love to win! Hope I'm not to late to be considered... x
