Tuesday Rotate

Todays Tuesday Rotate (something I have just invented and may possibly abandon at any time) is brought to you by Vic.
You guys know Vic don’t you, lover of varnished bread and giver of my fantastic Little Red print? Apart from now being a super sexylicious library chick (all library chicks are sexylicious, its the rules), Vic also has her own Etsy shop.
Geek Amour on Etsy, is the place to go to get your groovy funny cards….. When Vic first opened I bought some cards, then I had to go back for Black Books, and of course Doctor Who. In conversation with Vic in the land of bookface or  somewhere I may have stressed my need for a card that says something along the lines of “You are a good egg”..and lo and behold if she didn’t up and design the perfect card !vic1
and you know, I bought a few for me, and then one to frame and a few more in case there is an apocalypse and then I had to round it up so I find a I have a few spare. I was going to do a retrospective giveaway and then I thought…nah…. lets make people work…So why not go over and visit Vic’s shop and come back and tell me which card you like and why. I’ll get a passing pedestrian to pick a winner before I blog next and then I’ll send them some cards.
(and in the spirit of blog honesty Vic is my friend and I like her stuff and thought you might too, no shady deals, no sponsorship , no insider trading….She is just a damn fine egg)

  5. Vic is indeed a good egg. I miss her blog but glad that she is putting those talents of hers to good use.

My faves are the Dr Who and the Pop Yarn Art. Many a Saturday night is spent knitting in front of Dr Who so of course there is no question!

  8. you don't need to enter me in the draw, Jodie, but thank you for reminding me that I really needed to visit Vic's shop again (and I just popped in then). Sure, I'm supposed to be writing a conference presentation right now... but supporting good people's businesses is important, right?

  12. That is one seriously cute egg lady! I was going to pick one of the knitting cards (of course) but then I scrolled down to "you are here" on the brain and that really made me grin!

  14. It was hard, very hard to choose, but my favourite is Marie Antoinette "Let Them Eat Birthday Cake". Seriously, who can go past cake??!!

I first found Vic's work when Nic of Yardage Design introduced her after receiving a beautiful illustration she did for her - Vic truely is talented.

  20. Oh.... Oh... OH OH OH. my husband just came running when he heard all my shouting about the cards. He was a liiiiitle disappointed when he saw what I was actually looking at online (men!), but when I pointed at the Fawlty Towers card he smiled (politeness or just amused at his mistake?!)... I MUST HAVE THAT CARD for my mummabear, who is frequently sick. I'm constantly rocking her head back and forth saying "you must get as much rest as you can... As much rest as you can" reminding her of that scene, and I think if I actually GAVE her such a get well card she would be launched into the sphere of wellness, what with laugher being the best medicine and all....

  21. eeek so many I like! First up is the David Bowie 'Jareth' one - kinda creepy but my 13year old loves him! Dr Who (Of Course!) is hilarious, then there's the heart one and 'good egg' is just so good! Really, I'm going to have to get quite a few - that's a given. Oh and thanks for the sexylicious library chick affirmation - I try! ;)

  22. Oh dear ... where to start .. so so many great cards but if I was pressed to pick just one ..I would have to say (as a wearer of glasses) "All the hot chicks wear glasses"
Honourable mentions go to "Shh I've been buying fabric" Sheldons birthday rant and of course the ruby slippers. :)

  23. The cards are brilliant! Love the 'You look like a Monkey" one. Two reasons, it was my favorite phrase to sing as a kid, you know the annoying repetitive song thing they do? Well, that was mine, the other reason is my niece makes sock monkeys as gifts to thank people who help or assist her on her solo word trip on a small motorbike. Currently in Africa. I have made many sock monkeys for her too.
