Which I blogged about but didn’t actually post.
This morning on his way to work Mr Ric Rac fell over. Just one of those stumbles that happen. Five hours later the very nice doctor at casualty confirmed that he had broken his elbow.
That sucks right?
My real life friends have all just gasped…..
About thirty odd years ago Mr Ric Rac had a motorcycle accident that left his left arm completely paralysed….
So now he has a completely paralysed left arm and a completely immobilised broken right arm.
A double slung Tutankhamen kind of look
Feeding, dressing, you get the drill folks.
So, it’ll be a weirder than normal around here for a bit.
(I’m pretty sure you didn’t want a photo)
Wishing hime a full recovery soon Jod.
ReplyDeleteOh Jod.Bugger, bugger, bugger. Diet of soup for the Mister?
ReplyDeleteGoodness! I hope you are both coping... and Mr Ricrac gets better quickly too
ReplyDeleteWhat a nasty accident. I do hope your husband is feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no!
ReplyDeleteWishing him a speedy recovery and you a shitload of patience.
oh doubly no, I didn't know about his left arm.
ReplyDeleteI hope he means quick, quicker than your patience runs out! What a nightmare for the pair of you.
Oh no for him and you. My brother did the exact me thing to his elbow years ago, mind you he was drunk and running in the rain at the time, Dr at country hospital said not broken so he had it in a sling for 2 weeks while he played tennis etc, got home dr confirmed it was broken and he had to have a pin put in it.
ReplyDeleteWow, that sucks! All the best for a quick recovery :-)
ReplyDeleteOh dear Jodie that sucks, I ditto Kates comment....a speedy recovery and you a shitload of patience :-) Isn't it amazing how quickly one can be taken out of action. Thinking of you and big hugs xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you got a lot of easter eggs that you can now call 'comfort food'. Look on the bright side, he won't be able to pinch them from you!!
ReplyDeleteWishing him a speedy recovery and you a case of wine.
Oh no Jodie. That sucks soooooo badly! There are not even words!!!
ReplyDeletehorrors!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs for both of you.
And an extra dose of patience for you for the next however long.
Oh noes!!!! I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Ric Rac's injury and hope that he'll have a speedy recovery and not too much discomfort and pain in the interim.
ReplyDeleteAs for you, young lady - I hope you'll remember to take some time to rest in between your step and fetch it routine - and when you get tired of it - remember you love him and don't try to kill him. lol
(I'm only projecting because two years ago BSP had a double knee replacement surgery and I had to step and fetch [with bed pan duty!] *shudder* - although I 'spose you'll have some similiar tasks!)
Good luck to you both!
oh gosh .... what a trial for both of you. big hugs heading your way!
ReplyDeleteoh dear, wishing you and Mr. Ric Rac a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, you're literally going to have your hands full. Dear Friend's 40 year old son, having a weekend with the boys, decided to have a relay race in the parking lot while waiting for their pizza. Friend's son won but did he really? As he crossed the finish line he fell...shattered his elbow and broke a bone in 2 places. Surgery, cast from shoulder to finger tips. Does this make you feel better or worse? :o)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to Mr RicRac and a bouquet for you, Jodie!
ReplyDeleteHope he heals up soon.
Cheers
Oh gosh. Poor fella, poor you. Hoping for a speedy recovery. xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's a whole lotta busyness going on! Best wishes for a very speedy recovery.
ReplyDeletePoor Mr Ric-Rac, hope he feels better soon and you both cope!
ReplyDeleteHe loves you and he needs you - and I know you love him too. Kiss for both of you and see you soon.
ReplyDeleteOh poor Mr Ric Rac! That sounds just as painful as it is no doubt inconvenient.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you both!
Oh, and I'd actually be fine with seeing photos, but I am an OR nurse's daughter, so this sort of stuff holds no horror for me.
O dear. What a waste of sewing time. And it would happen in the holidays too. Hoping he is not in too much pain or was that too much of a pain. Lots of swimming or even time at the pool helped my youngest get full mobility back when she broke her elbow. Cherrie
ReplyDeleteOh You Poor Thing...Hope he is a Good patient for your sake and you both recovery quickly..
ReplyDeletecheers
Oh, no! How long does a broken elbow take to heal? Do you need to stay home from work? All the very best!
ReplyDeleteSending lots of sympathy your way :-(
ReplyDeleteHope it heals really quickly!
Ugh! Can we go back to the anzac bikkies and lemon butter and pretend this never happened? Poor Mr & Mrs Ric-Rac. I'm guessing this means time off work as well? Not good :(
ReplyDeleteBeing a nurse to one's husband really takes some teeth gritting and vowel remembering. As in wedding vowels, not a,e,i,o,u.
ReplyDeleteI like to grate lemon rind in my anzacs and drizzle a simple lemon icing on top.
Hang in there! Sending you some healing thoughts and happiness from Los Angeles! :)
ReplyDeleteSucks and blows hard for both of you. Sending speedy recovery vibes to Mr Ric Rac and willing a case of wine for you!
ReplyDeleteThat's horrible. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for the Mr.
ReplyDeleteOh dear!
ReplyDeleteMay it heal quickly and may he be very flexible so that he can learn to do some things with his feet.
All the best!
Ouch !!!!! I really hope things are going back normal soon !! courage to both of you !!
ReplyDeleteWishing you both lots of patience (and a very speedy recovery).
ReplyDeleteOh no, what hell for Mr Ric Rac and you. Hope the healing is quick and the patience is long.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear that :( hope he will recover soon and that your friends can help you guys out a bit
ReplyDeleteI gasped too! OMG, that sounds like a trial for everyone involved. Hope Mr. Ric Rac heals up fast.
ReplyDeleteBugger! Sending you both a hug, think you may need them!!!
ReplyDeleteOh yikes! Best wishes to you both - him for healing & you for that boatload of patience!
ReplyDeleteThree weeks after hubs & I married, I had a serious work accident and 23 years later, we're still dealing with the everyday issues, every dang day - that's where the "for better or worse" comes in....
Sending you hugs (gentle ones for him!!)
Hugs to your both and hope that hubby makes a quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteOMG that is going to test your patience.....hope everything heals fast.........hope he is a good patient........
ReplyDeleteOh no! You have a gift for making it sound funny but I know it isn't. Wishing you both an easy time of it!
ReplyDeleteOh that really sucks. Hugs to you and maybe some adult nappies are worth considering? ;)
ReplyDeletePoor Mr Ric Rac. Sending healing thoughts his way. Hope he's doing ok. I'm sure you're the best kind of nurse - patient, kind, always willing!!!
ReplyDeleteOh bugger :( Wishing Mr Ric Rac a speedy recovery.
