The talent in the room was amazing - there was almost every kind of craft imaginable going on - but special mention does have to go to Andi who made a whole quilt on the day....I managed about 7 letters of embroidery and got some great advice embroidery from Cindy (thanks).
Sheridan put in so much work and so much effort and I really don't think she knows what she has started and she deserves the highest honours blogland has to give. Next year she will need a bigger venue to accommodate all the bloggers from this year plus everyone who missed out.....
and just in case there is someone who has missed me touting my wares all over the place lately - I made a bag for Homespun magazine a wee while ago and it is in their current "go Green issue" along with a bit of me banging on and the worst photo ever taken
(No seriously, someone at the show actually asked me why I had sent in such a hideous photo)
but the bag looks good
almost as good as Miss Claire's Frankie the Frog.
I think I want to go next year! (but will have a babe in arms so maybe not... keep it going until 2012, won't you?!)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a blast!
Sounds like my kind of party! And how fab to have a pattern in Homespun - but should your show visitor really have told you what they thought of your photo???! Cheeky!
ReplyDeleteLocket xx
souns like fun, wish i could have come:)
ReplyDeleteThose footy fans on the train will never, ever be the same again....!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat day, great company, roll on Sydney!!
Lizzie
xxx
Please drag me to Sydney with you next year... Your project in Homespun looks great x
ReplyDeleteCool bag! I hear there is going to be a Sydney SIT?? Unreal orange peel!
ReplyDeleteYay, for Craft Hooligans on trains!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
AJ
OH I really really really want to come to this next year - for the WHOLE weekend - REALLY. I am sure I could con Jo as well (ha ha like that would be hard!).
ReplyDeleteWhat a ripper time you must have had. my mate Beck had fun too, so I will have to join in next time. The bag is fantastic, of course! Are you still on the lookout for more selvedges???
ReplyDeletegosh it was so much fun! I don't think words describe how great it was and what a shame you couldn't join us for dinner too!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCorrie:)
Bring on SIT 2011.
ReplyDeleteMy bags are packed!!!
It all sounds like such a great time ! That's not a bad photo of you (not that I'd really know anyway) at least they published your photo , huff !
ReplyDeleteYep, it was such a great day out and I can't wait to do it again next year. Thanks for the company and the laughs, Jodie, Lizzie, Rachelle, Deborah, Trash,Jacinta, Ellen and all the other wonderful, fabulous, friendly, talented bloggy girls. Although I would just like to make it clear to everyone that although I was in that group on the train, I was NOT one of the snorters (spent the trip laughing till I cried, though!)
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine that train ride. Great to see you again and I am already looking forward to next year.
ReplyDeletesounds like a totally wonderful day and night!!! Wish I could have been there. xo
ReplyDeletewhat a fantastic time........
ReplyDeleteHi Jodie! What a great weekend and it was so nice to be invited to the 'Ballarat Table'! What luck to sit with you all and Trash and Ellen and Holly too!
ReplyDeleteHad a great day. Look forward to next year too!
(Just so you know, because I am sure this will get a giggle - word verification is poodo! Love it!) Funny.
Cheers!
Ah, love it!! i would have stalked you to all weekend to get a photo of "me with Ernst" for my children!! Oh & to meet you, make you laugh, throw your arms up & hug me too. So coming to the next one, in Sydney, my home town, of course i'll be living in Brisbane, but you know, effort, can fly!! Love Posie
ReplyDeleteIt all came and went far too quickly. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that train trip home!
ReplyDeleteHeh, craft hooligans on the train.
ReplyDeleteI think that bag is sensational but I also really, really want to see the worst photo ever taken.
Congrats on being published Jodie. Your crafting weekend with blogging buddies sounds wonderful - I bet you were the life of the party!!
ReplyDeleteHugs ~ Kerryanne
Your bag looks fantastic and your trip out sounds like a laugh!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Homespun magazine! As a Brit who visits NZ for several months a year I read it from cover to cover (our Library keeps it) and have made some of the items.
ReplyDeleteHope to catch up with this Homespun & see your bag pattern.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: bestest weekend EVER!!! Was fab to see you as always Jode xx
ReplyDeleteYou do such great work! Love the bag.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely coming next year, I'm kicking myself that I didn't make this one! Sounds like it was a real hoot!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly sounds like a whole heap of fun! Awesome stuff!
ReplyDeleteJodie!! Your fabulous bag is ON THE COVER of a magazine. Who-hoo!! I hope you'll still be able to talk to the rest of us. It's beautiful, and really, how tasteful can you get, with a matching cell phone!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time. From what I've read it seems you and your friends (Ernst, Parsley and Beet, Bots, etc) were very popular. I heard you were mobbed!! LOL
ReplyDeleteAs I commented on Lizzie's blog: "I'd better learn to sew quickly!" Especially if there's to be a Sydney event next year!! Do you think I'd be allowed to knit instead?
About time the footy hooligans were shown how it's done!
ReplyDeleteWish I could've been there. :)
SIT was the best much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was AWESOME to meet you Jode, you are even funnier in person, if that's possible!
Thank you sooooo much for bringing Ernst, Parsley, Beet and the Robot crew, it was awesome to see them up close and give Ernst a hug. Gypsy and I patched things up once Ernst left us both to return to Pebble - he is such a heartbreaker!!!! ;-)
Can't wait to see what you do with that lovely loot you bought on Saturday, how excitement.
Looking forward to seeing you again in Sydney in March!
Big hugs
Kelly :-)
PS: Ernst was very productive at SIT, Jules has photos to prove it! ;-)
Sounds like a riot! I can't wait to hear more about but we're heading out of town for a couple of weeks, I'll have to catch up later. Keep the fun stories coming, Jodie!
ReplyDeleteI must buy the mag now just so I can see how ridiculos the photo is... LOL!!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Jodie :)
Hi Jod, oooh sounds like you had a blast! Such fun..
ReplyDeleteYOu know I just bought that mag today as Christine (Once Upon a Quilt) is in it too...
Can't wait to sit and read it now with a good coffee.
Keep up the great work and especially all the encouragement :-)
Great to have you on the next craft table, it was a laugh wasn't it. I'm going to be making the bag soon I promise ;-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like one fun party! I'm so totally jealous!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a ball... a much more intelligent, productive ball than FOOTball. I'm now imagining a whole train devoted to crafters - how fun would THAT be!! I'm dreaming of just such a trip ...
ReplyDeleteLaughed out loud about your photo comment (although I haven't seen the mag) as I had a similar experience recently - how is it that a photo that looks fine before you send it off for publication can end up looking hideous? I don't get it either!!
Sounds like it was a great time had by all, I am smiling from afar! Well done on the homespun mag along with Claire (you two together again!) Love the bag! Did you really send them that photo??? Laughing with you....not at you :0
ReplyDeleteWhat photo??/the bag one? That is fab. Too funny
ReplyDeleteTerisa
