parole

With time out for good behaviour, (because I have NAILED two patterns over the weekend)

I have been making tea-cups for a display tea-set... 42 outer pieces and 42 inner pieces - just for the cups !
I once read, on a blog funnily enough, a person who said if they became ridiculously, embarrassingly rich then they would hire a cutter-outer....
If I were ridiculously embarrassingly rich (after I had dealt with world peace and poverty and all that)....I would hire a personal shopper, someone to go and buy all my clothes for me, organise them and tell me what to wear on which day, what matched and what to avoid...or if I were super really embarrassingly rich enough - I might just take to wearing pyjamas everywhere.
(I'm so superficial )

  1. The first thing I would do would be to hire a cook, but a cutter-outerer might be a close second.

  2. I think I would have gone spare! pyjamas - and why not !

  3. Clothes chooser, cutter outer, shopper... I could support my own mini empire if I could only afford it!

LOVE the teacups by the way!

  7. I agree I have to go with the PJs!! I was thinking the same as Claire's craftroom....that I must be rich as I love an indulgent 'pyjama day' at home :-)

  8. I would have a cutter-outer and an interfacer, and an ironing-after-washinger. Then I'd get someone to take my showers for me and do the pregnant woman's middle o' t' night trip to the loo.

  9. Well done on the pattern nailing :)

  10. Love the pyjama idea... think I might join you (not that I'm super rich of course... just lazy!)

  11. That whole 'organising your wardrobe/cupboards' thing? Did I mention at all that Giovanna is now back in the country and just over an hour or so away?

Move over Greg Evans and Dexter, sounds like I just made a perfect match!

  12. or you could just work from home :) I would like the dresser too, and the person to give me a good kick to get things done sometimes too

    nice work on the patterns..

  13. Jumping up and down excitedly here ...did someone say "Pyjamas"?

    I wear Pyjamas a LOT!

    But I'm not rich :(

Congrats on the pattern success Jodie. You totally rock. I wish I had your focus.

    Pyjamas..Pyjamas...Pyjamas...

  14. See, I am often told I should be a person shopper... so when you are stupid rich from being a world renowned toy maker ,you can hire me to come on tour with you....easy!

  15. Not superficional, you are just like the rest of us. Who doesn't like to spend a day in pjs?
And if I were stinking rich, I would hire someone to do my taxes and deal with all the annoying stuff that comes with living. Like going grocery shopping on a saturday evening (sunday everything's closed here, so people are triping over each other on saturday evening). Or having to deal with bureaucracy.
It would be so much fun!
Well, that and the pjs all day long.

  17. I would get someone to tell me what to cook and do the shopping for me. I would come home to a tidy house, recipe, ingredients, jazz and a glass of red. ONe can dream!

  18. "Coming to America" always pops into my head when I imagine being ridiculously rich. Love the teacups!

  19. Yep, world peace and poverty first then I'd hire my very own personal clothes maker...everything custom fit just for me...right down to the underwear. Love the tea cup colors.

  20. If I was super rich, I would probably spend it all on fabric and haby. Although a couple of slaves and a personal stylist would probably be useful around here.

  21. love the tea cups. Will we get to see the complete set sometime??

  22. It seems like only a few weeks ago that you were trying to get the prototype to work! Now you're making the whole tea-set!

You've come a long way; enjoy your PJs! LOL

  23. Lovely work, as always! Wouldn't it be lovely to get around in PJs all day, they certainly are built for comfort.
I read the most amusing and thought-provoking blog post yesterday, all about wearing PJs in public. Check it out here: http://www.pattyk.com/?p=1003
    I think you'll enjoy it.

  24. I pretty much live in my PJ's all winter, they're the most comfy clothes I own and I live in the woods and hardly ever do we get drop-in company. So when I'm rich, I'm getting a housekeeper. (My friends and I joke that what I really need is a "wife". Someone to cook and clean and run errands for me and the man.)

Oh, a girl can dream! And your tea cups are to die for. Dare I hope that one of the patterns you're writing was for them??? (Gosh, I hate to be a pest, always wanting a piece of you, Jodie. You can tell me to bug off if you'd like!)

  25. I'm with you on the personal shopper, the amount of time I waste sometimes coming up with new outfits- is the reason why i tend to stick to my old faithfuls.
but then again PJS are even better.

  26. You could do that if you're rich, cos ya know, if you're just the average person and you wear your jammies all day then your either lazy or crackers. If you're rich and you wear your jammies all day, then your ECCENTRIC lol!!
    Not fair hey??!!
    Hugs,
    Joy :o)
PS, I love all those teacups!!!!

  27. I'm happy to wear my pyjamas everywhere. If we all made a pyjama pact - everyone in the whole world - it would be considered "normal". I'm in if you're in.

  28. I'd go for a personal assistant to attend to my every whim. Oh to be embarrassingly rich.

    Cups are stunning.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oooh, yes -- a personal shopper would be ever so much more useful than a cutter outer. And Yes! to the pajamas too -- that's my kind of life. If I were embarrassingly rich, I'd visit AU! ;-)

  30. I would have a foot masseuse on 24 hour call. And a cook.

Good work on those nailed patterns, superstar!

  31. shall we call you Hugh, as in Heffner??? (the pjs all day seem to work for him and he is a wrinkly old twat)
good behaviour?? you bribed someone didn't you... I know you did....

  32. I would defo get the cutter outer. Then I could have time to go op shopping!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would just go the whole way and hire a "do ALL the boring stuff so I can play all day" person. That would be good!

In the meantime please keep your fingers tightly crossed (or maybe your toes, so you can keep sewing) for my interview on Thursday for my new job!

    Locket xx

  34. I would do all the stuff I want to do, keep enough to live on and spend the rest on the poor.

Superficial? Nah, just talented and fashionable dahling!

  35. Clutter- outerer is probably what I need...altho I guess if one was embarassingly rich one could afford one house of clutter & one of simple expensive clean lines.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Wow the cups are gorgeous and I want them ... and pjs are a fab choice for crafting, I wear mine for most things, sometimes even walking the dogs (hidden with coats, wellies etc etc)!

  37. the first thing I would buy.. besides a house in California (where I grew up) and one in Idaho (Where my parents are) would be to have a proper craft room, with a vintage library card catalogue to put all my crafty things and a big sewing machine instead of the dinky ass one I fight with everytime I sew something because I have dreams but damnit its difficult with a sewing machine the size of a shoe. then I would run around buying all the lovely things that crafters/bloggers make that I cant afford at the moment.

oh and teacups = awesome ... but coffee cups are better... no saucers...and coffee is just the best thing ever it is C O F F E E the magical nectre of the gods.

  38. You and good behavior. Definitely an oxymoron.

  39. Um, GORGEOUS Jodie, you never cease to amaze me with your sharp style & detail. They are beautiful. Eggs cups, crap, is Easter coming??
Oh i've hired a cutter/ best friend who is friggen awesome on scissors & following instructions, likes to chat & giggle with you . . . so you don't need to be ridiculously rich, just under the pump!! Go the jammies, that is what school holidays was invented for. Love Posie

  40. Oh my those teacups look so amazing. I love love love all the color! :) I would totally hire a cook and wear pjs a lot. :)

  41. Beautiful teacups! Does this mean I'm going to have to buy another pattern that I won't have time to make? I'm with you on the p.j.s but why is it that whenever you decide to have a relaxed p.j. day, even if it is on a Sunday when nobody ever usually calls, somebody will ring the doorbell and you will have to reveal yourself as the eccentric woman? Even worse if you've recently slathered your head with henna and wrapped it in cling film.
If you ever get rich - pick me! I would love, love, love to be a personal shopper. Imagine getting paid for something that normally costs you money.
