Oh wow, I visited the Brisbane stitches and craft fair today, and I got to see your selvedge collection. They're all gorgeous!! It was really lovely to see them all :)
I have LOVED this dress ever since you posted it and back then I cam across it by chance.
I just came across your blog via Tiny White Daisies blog and looked at your beautiful 1 hour bag. Whilst having a look at your site I saw that you love selvedge and thought - "I must find that beautiful dress and post a link for ric-rac to see".
Google it and it comes up as yours!!! I am amazed every time I see it - have you managed to get it exhibited anywhere? You should!
So, I know I'm totally late to the game, but this. is. AMAZING! Until today I didn't even know that this bit of the fabric was called selvedge or that there was someone out there who enjoyed them as much as- or actually, more- than me! Congrats on a beautiful job!
I happened upon your website while searching selvage quilt ideas. The dress is really a piece of textile art. You should submit it to a gallery. Absolutely beautiful - one of a kind. You are a very talented artist.
Jodie that dress is amazing, and u really found a fabulous way to use those to use those selvedges up.U have inspired me to try it. I hope I got enough selvedged pieces to try this. I got some little sun-dresses to make for my granddaughters. My old granddaughter would just go wild over this dress. She wants me to make her a poodle skirt. So I thought I'd make a couple for summer she could enjoy. But I have bags and bags of this stuff I've saved over about 30 years of sewing myself. Only problem might be is most r from satins, lame', the more formal type fabrics because I designed wedding dresses and formal wear for a few decade. This dress is just fantastic. I thought of doing this many years ago, but decided against it, figuring it was ahead of the times. I should of tried it though, this is just awesome, I love it. U do fantastic work. I'm very impressed. Very nice work. Some of the best I've seen in a while. Thanks so much for sharing this.
