Hi guys.
Thanks this week to One red Robin for her theme. This is my favourite accessory.
I am not much of a jewellery wearer but lately I find myself drawn to pins and badges and brooches.
The red bird I bought last year at Magnolia square from Maru. The beautiful mirrored silhouette which was so hard to get a photo of, was a gift from the Art teacher at school and also from Maru I believe. The owl is of course from our friend at Lino Forest and the little illustration pin I bought from Lilymoon on Etsy.
Today's accessory , and it is really Miss Jem's, is this beautiful flower she was given by a friend.
This flower is just killing me - that squidink purple and the mottled bits. It makes me think of alien spaceships and sea anemones.
ooops, I have just been trotting around blogland and then I read lara's comment - I was supposed to take a photo of myself in the mirror.
Well it is 9.40 sunday night , I am very comfy in my not-for-public-consumption dressing gown and staring down a massive week of work, 3 orthodontic appointments -4 meetings and a whole library (14,000 books alone) to pack in 5 days.
Maybe I should take a photo of whats left of me at the end of the week !
I have a growing 'thing' for brooches/pins too Jodie! That flower is simply stunning - sometimes nature does it better than we could ever imagine. x
ReplyDeleteYup - I love brooches too - especially flower ones made by my friend Alison and my lovely big pink carnation from Gina for our meeting in London in March!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, lovely brooches. And that flower - you have such an eye for detail Jodie. And you're cheeky - where is the "me taking a photo of myself in the mirror" part of this meme?
ReplyDeletePutting my hand up as another pin/brooch addict here. Yours are all beautiful (and now you've made me want to go shopping...)
ReplyDeleteAnd that flower - woweeeee! That really is spectacular!!!
Beautiful brooches! I especially love the one of the mirror.
ReplyDeleteThose are fantastic shots of the passion flower! My mother has a passion flower vine in her front yard... it reminds me of home. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes, you do that and we will come back next Sunday to see the pool of soggy exhaustion that is left.
ReplyDeletewow - good luck with your week ahead! That passion flower is gorgeous and lovely brooches too!
ReplyDeleteOoh yes, I love brooches and corsages too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great bag tutorial on your last post, the bag looks fab! (.... I'm quite keen on bags too .....)
:)
ps. You really should have taken the photo ;)
They are all lovely brooches, especially the mirrored one. Good luck with your busy week!
ReplyDeleteoh Jodie, take a deep breath - you know you will blink and it will all be over. Why are you packing the books??? Is it time already??? Your broaches are lovely and brighten my day each time you wear them. I wonder if Pete's Passion will be as beautiful as that???
ReplyDeleteLovely brooches and that flower is amazing-your week ahead sounds rather daunting!!Hope you survive it intact:)
ReplyDeleteThe brooches are very cool, the flower is just stunning. It's hard to believe nature can produce such amazing colours!
ReplyDeletelovely brooches, they're all amazing! Now those are brooches I would wear... can we go shopping together?! :P

ReplyDeleteKyla
I'm a bit obsessed by brooches - most 'normal' jewellery looks wrong on me, but brooches I can do!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that flower - gorgeous!
Jodie,
ReplyDeleteGTH involves Tulla, O.G., Kew, Kensington, Ballas and Townsville. Not necessarily in that order.
Cake sounds triffic.
I love the red swallow and the mirrored girl - just lovely!
ReplyDeleteAnd the flower...oh my!
Beautiful pins, badges, and brooches you have there :o) Good luck with your busy week... especially the library-packing, which does sound daunting (and I speak from experience on the matter of library-packing, so I honestly do sympathise). But just think: packing the resources up will be a doddle compared with unpacking them again afterwards and trying to get them back in order... hmm, that thought probably doesn't help, actually, unless you're not the one who has to unpack everything... So I reiterate my earlier comment: genuine good luck for it all!

Hi Jodie - very cute brooches - a great accessory!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the bag tutorial - I just finished mine! What do you think? I used interfacing which I think was too stiff, but I wanted to make it NOW rather than go to the store!! Thanks.
Oh, I love the Passion Flower!! We had a Passion Vine for many years and we'd have 50+ Passion Flowers at any given time!! They actually tell the story of Christ. Gorgeous pics! Thanks for the memories!
ReplyDeleteSo, in your spare time this week (!!!) would you like to do the 7 Random Things meme??!!?
ReplyDeleteI know this is bad timing, but I love your blog and wanted to tag you. So I have.... sorry!
