Today I am heading off to AQM (Australian Quilt market) to set up. This is my last crafty commitment for the year and I am looking forward to getting into the sewing room over the next few weeks for some serious sewing time. I have so many almost finished, half-started, ready to try projects that I seem to be in a state of constant distraction.
An email question yesterday reminded me that I may have forgotten to mention that Elsie Cabbage is ready ! Arthur got held up but is a Bee’s whisker from completion…
Sometimes I mention things on Bookface and tick it off in my brain and forget that I have not mentioned it here or vice versa.
My newest Creative Card (how I love making these cute but useless things) is also ready, and is called Owl Post . This guy is about 4 inches high. His post bag will hold a teeny felt letter that you can embroider, or you could just write a little note on regular paper and pop it into his bag.
Let me know who you would be writing a note to, and what it would say and I’ll pick a winner and send out a few creative cards next week.
(half way through the library move, my note might just be to my boss and trust me , there would only be two words)
I have a few online friends that I would love to send hit to with little notes saying "in friendship xx" thanks fore the chance and have a hoot setting up. hugs
ReplyDeleteI love both of your creations..what a delightful whimsical creator you are...
ReplyDeleteOh I love that Little owl. A little Hedwig inspired, perhaps? My daughter would love that little owl, and I would love to put a little message ins bag for her! Have fun at

I'd write a note to my 3yo son (who loves owls thanks to Giggle and Hoot) and say "This Owl says Ooo, when you need to do a poo, please use the loo". (I am so sick of toilet training...)
ReplyDeleteI'd write a note to a friend who has been sick for over a year now, just saying that I appreciate and love her.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is a huge Harry Potter fan I would send her a "Howler" to clean her room! Annie

Hi Jodie - What a beautiful little chap. I think my week is going a bit like yours, and that I'd probably send out a note to a good fairy that says "Help! Please be kind to me". Karen

It is not useless if it brings someone happiness :) I would write a note to my Mom. Not sure what I'd say but it would probably make me cry!
ReplyDeleteTo my kind neighbour, who receives postparcels for me when i'm not at home.
ReplyDeleteThe card would just say THANKS ! The postbag itself makes clear what the 'thanks' is for...
Hi Jodie I did ask on Facebook it you think the owl would be suitable for Charlotte to make as I was thinking of making up a little kit for her for Christmas (from Santa of course!). Just let me know when you can and where can I get those creative cards. Good luck with the library move.

ReplyDeleteI'd send one to my (adopted) niece Nim and tell her to behave or I'll slap her with a wet fish. (it's a penguin thing)
I want Elsie's shoes.
Oh what a beautiful idea. I think I would save it until christmas then write a little cryptic note telling the boys where their presents are hidden. Wrap it up and then put it under the tree with their names on. They love a treasure trail.
ReplyDeleteI'll be making one for my Wicked Step mother, who has just been made redundant by Australia Post.
ReplyDeleteYour handmade items are so beautiful, I especially love the owl, ADORABLE!!!! I would write to my longest friend, whom I met when we were both 18 months old in playgroup, and it has been a such a LLLONNNNNNGGGGG time since we have spoken, and a card would be so much lovelier than a text message, hand written cards are keepsakes, especially these days!

ReplyDeleteWhat would the two words be I wonder? More coffee? Extra staff? Massage please? Your owl is lovely. Since the gods of giveaway frown upon me, could you please tell me where I can purchase the creative cards from?
ReplyDeleteI would write to my 4-year-old grandson, who is just beginning to read. It would say: "Look Whooo's reading!"
ReplyDeleteOwl's adorable! ...
ReplyDeleteIn his mail pouch would be a teensy, weensy note to our nephew, Blake, 18, who recently lost all his hair as a result of chemo for Burkitt's lymphoma. He left college only after a few weeks into his freshman year, so the note would say, "Can't w8 2 c u." Of course it would be on school letterhead and signed by the entire flock of owls "whooo" miss Blake terribly. And I would feel all warm and fuzzy inside, pulling off such a feat.
Elsie's so precious, too.
I'd send a note over to Australia saying "Congrats Jodie" on sewing full time and librarying not so much now, although organizing a craft room is doing the DDS somewhat? yes? Love the owl, reminds me of Hedwig from Harry Potter!
ReplyDeleteOh,cuter than cute, that Elsie! The post owl is darling too.
ReplyDeleteI'd write a note to my red-headed sister, far away halfway across the country and having a very rough time just now, and I'd like to put that quote from Winnie the Pooh “If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.”
So cute! Love me some owls :) I'd make one for my baby girl and tuck in a note telling her she was worth waiting for all these years, even through the really, really hard parts.
ReplyDeleteMy note needs to go to my best friend, who's birthday I missed (Sept) and now I need to get off my lazy ^%$% and make her a cool gift....I was thinking a union jack pillow till I saw your cool owl! PS are you counting the weeks til end of term and LSL kicks in? you lucky duck!

Both Elsie and your owl postie are wonderful. Elsie looks more than up to any shenanigans that Arthur will get up to! I would send a letter to my kids saying "Miss You" - for all that I'm glad whentheybhead off for a few days or weeks...I miss them like crazy!
ReplyDeleteI would have to write a note to our grandgirl. "I love you a bushel and a peck. A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck" . Or since she is just 3, maybe I will just embroider her initial R and a heart.

My brother in law just got married last weekend, and my new sister in law just loves owls. I'd make her a pair so the newlyweds could exchange love notes to one another.... You new creations are cute and as filled with personality as ever.
ReplyDeleteI would totally write to Harry Potter asking if he could teach me a few spells to make life a bit easier :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this little owl. He would be a great way to share a kind word when my tween is having an angst filled day without being all mom-in-your-face about it.

ReplyDeleteLightyears ago we would write with pen and paper. It was a joy to see something in the post from her. The whole family wanted to read all the news. ReplyDeleteI'd write to my son and tell him I love him. I see him everday, but he would love to have a lasting reminder that I really do love him.
