Today I finished off a new tea set.
This is the "good tea set" , you know the one that only ever gets used when great Granny comes to tea. It lives in a special cupboard, never goes in the dishwasher and is always used at the table with a full set of cutlery. It holds dainty cakes and gourmet meals. It is home to Christmas dinners and starchy, over-rich puddings.
This one is the regular everyday tea-set that the normal folk get to eat off. It is just as happy on the table as it is on your knees in front of the telly. It is happy to hold your dinner, your snacks and your hot-chip sandwiches dripping with sauce.
With the gorgeous and gracious help of Miss Precision (seriously this woman's workmanship cannot be questioned can it Nikki?), this pattern will be available at the Stitches and Craft show in a few weeks. For people who can't make it , the pattern will go into my very neglected Etsy shop just as soon as I have had a little post-show sleep or two.
jodie they are both gorgeous...
ReplyDeletei think your attempts were well worth it...
this pattern will be a must....and i think you really will be flooded with offers to put it into a book...
they are both divine...
oh Jodie, they are fabulous! Can't wait to get my hands on that pattern!
ReplyDeleteThose numerous attempts sure were worth it!!! I love your Everyday Tea-set...it looks so happy!!! Cathy
ReplyDeleteOhh my word they are stunning tea sets. Will you think me strange if I say I prefer the every day set? I would worry about using the good one - in case something happened to it - like one of my kids taking a fancy to it and it disappearing on me....vbg. Your patterns are going to be such a success. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThese are just so much fun! I so wish I could come and see all your lovely work and ideas at the show - bit far from Lancashire though!
ReplyDeleteLove them!! Especially the everyday set.
ReplyDeleteJodie, how VERY talented you are!!! I love your teapots, cups and saucers!
ReplyDeleteThey were definitely worth it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gorgeous gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteYummy,Delicious,Touchable,Wantable!

Ah yes - how would we ever get by without Lara's kind-yet-critical eye for details and her amazingly skilled workmanship? Poor thing must be as the EXHIBITORS for this show....
ReplyDeleteI'm trying not to count the days (she says, still in the studio at 9.15pm on a Friday night.... sewing machine and two computers going.... printing, sewing... pressing... writing.. ummmm....checking bloglines from time to time..?).
I meant to say Lara must be as "STRESSED" ..... so who's stressed now?
ReplyDeleteThey are fantabulous Jodie! And now I'm off to check out Miss Precision! x
ReplyDeleteYes, the 'good set' looks fit for mother in law visits and posh friends, whilst the everyday set looks like it would be perfectly at home at the Mad Hatters Tea Party. I lurve them both!
ReplyDeleteThey both look fantastic, can't wait for the pattern
ReplyDeleteThey both look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey are both INCREDIBLE!!!! Can't wait to see the pattern - and the book of course, I mean, you will be starting to write it this weekend won't you??????!!!!!

ReplyDeletei'd love to make a set for my little girl! i'll be watching for the pattern.
fabulous.. but as I'm not really a tea drinker (we I did start out that way, heaps of sugar, gallons of milk and very little tea) I'm not onto the more hardend caffienated drink of choice.. coffee.. so I demand you do coffee cups next.. a lovely little espresso cup! *wink*
ReplyDeletethey are really georgeous.. what was the final toll for broken tea cups? *lol*
my word verification is "cheste" do you think its trying to say something to me? *is odd and quite happy about it mostly*
Seriously stunning you clever, clever lady. i love the best one... my Mum was given a tea set by my Great Grandma to have when she came round for tea because she would only drink tea out of real china! It's funny because she wasn't rich, or posh, she was just proper!!
