Leaning to the left

I find myself quite busy with an unscheduled day-job induced breakdown at the moment so please pull up a chair and talk amongst yourselves. Feel free to craft and look at the pretty pictures.
Designed by the wonderful Ms Zombie,
Bought from the Drapers of Mt Macedon.
Sewn whilst at Sewjourn with a raucous riotous bunch of wonderful women

If you notice excessive weirdness or drooling, I just ask that you make sure I am wearing good undies before you call the men in white coats.
I am happy enough to go stark raving bonkers but I refuse to do it in loosely strung, thin of crotch , bad day underwear.
I am a woman of principle.

  1. have a hug.

embroider something nice on the white coats - they need brightening up a bit.

  2. Good on you, I wouldn't go bonkers in bad undies either. Do they make those big white bonds cottontails still? You need a few pairs of those I think, to be on the safe side! Amazing Santas too.

  3. Hope the breakdown doesn't last too long & that you've at least manage to change into your prettiest smalls. x

  4. Oh you poor poppet! You have my permission to bop anyone who tells you a) to snap out of it b) cheer up! or c) oh it can't be that bad.

In the meantime, take a pair of cottontail undies (the high cut kind, not the baggy nana kind) and embroider the bejeesus out of them. That way you can make something beautiful AND practical.

And if you ever feel like you need a break in sunny (cough) Canberra, we have a lovely spare bed. You might be sharing with the yarn stash and some nice fabric, but I'm think you'd actually prefer that!

  5. cool Santas!
I'm loving visions of those heavily embroidered cottontails from Michelle (above)...watch out, everyone will want a pair!

  6. Have you ever read Kaz Cooke's "The Terrible Underpants"?

If not, it's a children's picture book and sums up the ever lurking bad undies that we all try to keep at the back of the drawer very well. In the end the main character solves the problem of having to wear the Terrible Underpants (and having everyone see them) by simply taking them off. Could this be an option for you if those men in white coats come?

Meanwhile - I love the little men in red :).

  7. Fab Santas, Jod. Exactly HOW weird is excessive weirdness?? Just checking. BTW, I am giving up the school part of the day job. Yay!

  8. Maybe keeping on the ratty old knickers will ward off the men in the white coats.
Not much longer now!! Hold on tight!!!

  9. Perhaps the embroidering of the undies could be part of your rehabilitative therapy?

  10. It's not sounding too good Jod . If they carry you away just make them slow down so you can swing an arm down and collect some crafting as you go past into the white truck then ring me and I'll come and break you out ! See all easy fixed !

The school year is almost over, the school year is almost over.....

Love the santas - too cute.

  13. these are brilliant! As for the breakdown, fear not, there are only 18 working days until Christmas... you can hang on!

  14. Being a nurse I always make sure I am waering good undies incase of such "bonkers" occassions. I have seen waaay to many cases of "caught with bad undies" cases.

    Super cute santa's.

  20. Well, Mums always say to wear clean undies in case you get hit by a bus... or something like that...

At least Sewjourn was a shining light amongst all the monotony, and those gnomes are just so damn cute!

  21. Laughing so hard I peed a little. And a little pee in MY bad day undies is a heck of a lot worse than the last time you made me laugh so hard I peed. (That time I was in the new one's.) Oh, and your Santa's are lovely!

  22. Are you sure you don't actually want to be picked up "sans foundation garments"? C'mon you know you wanna!

Actually my nanna was always on about making sure you had you're good undies on, never knowing when you'd be in an accident and all that and then, wouldn't you know it, I wound up in an accident with my WORST undies on EVER and AND had to have blood taken from my GROIN by the HOTTEST DOCTOR EVER!! And yes I SHOUTED all that!

oh and p.s while we're on the topic we are loving "More Pants". Good steer lady.

  23. At least you had a good time at Sewjourn Jod and how cute are those little Santas!!
Not many school days left now then bring on the holidays.

  24. Attention, everyone! It took me YEARS to learn to THROW AWAY the bad undies. No, you are not to save them for an emergency. Undies are cheap, buy yourself a lot, with lace if you like. You're worth it. I've been living this way for two whole years now (never mind the previous 52 years.)

  25. Hope you're doing OK Jodie. Wishing you a bit of peace or the space to get thoroughly munted. xx

  26. You know you're hilarious right, Jod? You do make me laugh!

Oh, and I love these guys! x

  27. This is why I've been reading your blog all this time (the humor, not the breakdowns). <3

I hope you get some rest and relaxation soon!

  28. Can the men in white coats take me away too? Love the gnoma.

  29. Is a scheduled work-induced breakdown different? (Seriously, hope you are OK.)

  30. Day jobs suck!
    Love the gnomes...went to Drapers yesterday...sold out!...bugger!

  31. I had that too. A perfectly good weekend, ruined by having to go to work. I am shocked and appalled... well mainly shocked cos I haven't the energy to be appalled.

Don't go bonkers...get a fiendish revenge instead! You can plead insanity in fine knickers afterwards. Actually I think the fine knicks might be a mitigating factor...m'lud.
