Are you a good waiter? Are you patient? are you calm?
Little waits don’t bother me much, like waiting at the doctors or waiting for someone who is a bit late. Big waits…oooh they annoy me, Big waits like waiting for your boss to Ok your long service leave, or waiting for the phone call after an interview, those waits are hard work. I find it hard to think of other things, and check my email, phone, and carrier pigeon constantly!
So while I am in a state of wait (and weight it must be said)..I am noodling and far darkling along. I finished this teapot that I started last year – all it needed was the cup handle and lid button.
Rueben had a bit of surgery and had his arms re-attached.
and Elsie blew raspberries and told me to get over myself.
I guess I’ve been told.
Waiting for pattern testers to finish testing your pattern... Waiting for children to go to bed so you can sew, waiting, waiting, waiting.... :)
ReplyDeleteMe thinks young Elsie has your number.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a tea party while you wait (calmly, patiently, non-frazzledly)-ish.
Good luck x
I thought that tea was supposed to a be a good relaxant - guess not for us impatient people who think that everyone should work at our pace. Apparently, not everyone works at 110% all the time - can't understand why not, you get so much more done!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the teapot and cup and I am glad that Rueben is all fixed.
I have spent a lot of time today telling my redhead that blowing raspberries is rude and "not ok", hope that Elsie wasn't too naughty today while you were trying to get stuff done. :D
I'm with Carmel surely these children will go to bed soon!
ReplyDeleteYour designs continue to excite me and blow me away! I adore the teapot too! I can imagine the gorgeous Cabbage family sitting around the sewing machine after a hard day of creating and chatting about their creator and designer! great work mate! Cheers, Tracy
ReplyDeleteMy poor Red Riding Hood still doesn't have a face. I think she's waiting for a May trip to Sewjourn so that the master can do it.
ReplyDeleteGood things come to she who waits
ReplyDeleteI hope what you are waiting for gets an answer soon for you, that you get your long service leave too. Love the orange tea set, Rueben is adorable and Elsie just cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteI'm a shocker. Sometimes I get huffy and kick stuff. Which makes my toe hurt. P'raps drink an extra, extra strong tea?
ReplyDeleteWaiting for stuff that is important to us is always anxious.
ReplyDeleteGlad Elsie had perspective! Don't sweat it Jodie. If the answer had come back soon, that might not have been the answer you were wanting.
Good things come to those who wait - so said my mother.
A tea party with your softie friends might help. I'd loan you Abby to help ease the stress of the wait but you have your very own Finn. So my answer is always...hug your puppy.
ReplyDeleteI hate to wait! But I don't mind if you have to wait on ME....that's a whole different story. I have a sudden urge for a cuppa tea. LOVE your teapot.
ReplyDeleteAs a creator of vast number of UFOs or WISPs (work in SLOW progress) my stuff had gotten very good at waiting. Me? not so much. If it's a really short wait - like for the kettle to boil, or 5 mins til you are supposed to switch something off - I'll wander off get completly distracted and remember in about an hour with a sense of horror. If it's a longer wait, like for a late visitor, I'll get really twitchy and make patterns on the glass with my nose.
ReplyDeleteanything longer than that and I'm pretty much a basket case.
hard to tell from my normal state, granted.
Phew! Reuben looks much more handsomer with arms attached. And I think that Elsie might need hot legs. Would you like to borrow my big stick?
ReplyDeleteHope your carrier pigeon lands soon.
Love Elsie and her attitude . I hope your wait is over soon and it is all good stuff xx
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh, waiting? No, I am crap at waiting...sort of feels like a waste of time- if there was no wait, you could just get on with it. Although, as I type I am hearing myself saying to my children 'it's not a bad thing to have to wait- it just means you really appreciate it when you get it"...oh, so it's okay for some people to have to wait!
ReplyDeleteGo Elsie! I like a girl with some positive attitude!
ReplyDeleteI am normally patient, and calm. I have ordered some parts for my loom and I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteYep, some waits are hard work. I've got my fingers and toes crossed for your long service leave chicko.
