pattern writing

Today is pattern writing day.
So obviously I have updated the shop, baked brownies and farted about on Pinterest.
I may have glanced at Bookface and spent some time on Instagram.
I have had eleventy-five cups of tea and answered those emails that linger right at the bottom of the inbox.
I have chatted with the dog, despaired at the mess and eaten cold pizza.

I also sewed that purple pin right into the seam of the project that of course I am not working on, because I am pattern writing.

  1. I quite like the sewed pin - I have a few of those myself.

In the midst of packing, posting etc and of course I need to check out blogs, facebooks etc etc even though I am running out of time....

  2. I've got laundry to do, floors to mop, dusting. But ig is more fun. And house hunters is on.

  3. I'm not seeing too much wrong with that.

  4. Think of all the things you have got done. I'm in the middle of a spring clean. So far I washed a light fitting, had a cuppa with a neighbour, cleaned the top of one kitchen cupboard, had a cuppa with another neighbour then after I came home I had to have lunch. Was just en route to the laundry for the sugar soap when the computer called me to check out some blogs. If I keep up this pace I could have it finished in spring 2015.

  5. I'm impressed with the pin.
I am also procrastinating here - reading blogs and checking out faceache. The significant other is off to China for a fortnight. I would love to think that I will have two weeks of finishing UFOs but he's left enough for me to be nice and busy.
Faffing in and of itself is an art form. It is also part of the creative process. While we engage our brain in other activities, the other half of the brain is working on the solutions. Faffing is actually brain storming. Do you notice that 95% of the faffing is not creative? I rest my case.

  6. haha, I always do that to those pins! They need yo be a bit tougher, though I'm glad my needle doesnt snap every time. I'm now sitting in bed preparing for a nap, to avoid the housework. It put me in a bad mood, so proscratination is the best idea really.

  9. That is sew me! (Sorry couldn't resist). That's why my housework now takes 2 days instead of half of one.

  15. I know exactly what you mean. I would much rather design and sew than write the patterns, but it has to be done. Sometimes I'm in the mood for it, othertimes I have to force myself to be in the mood! I read back and bit and love your turtles! Hope that pattern got written!

  16. I am also an expert in the art of procrastination or, as it is better known in our house, excuses not to do the housework. Thank god I have a laundry room - the estate agents must have seen me coming - because it is, true to its name, always full of laundry waiting to be ironed. I will do almost anything legal in order not to concern myself with its contents. Keep up the good work!

  17. Hey, writing is hard work. just think of all those things you did as preparation for the work. I write for a living and still don't enjoy the process of thinking and thinking and writing.

  20. A girl after my own heart! Why do what you have to do when there are other things to do!

  21. Sounds good. I am sure you wrote the pattern in your head. Now it just needs to fall into the computer.

  22. Faffing is completely under-rated.
