Baxter circa 2011
I am teaching a kids class in Ballan on April 9th so I thought I'd rustle up a new version of Baxter the Hedgehog. I was hoping for some fur in the rainbow sparkle family and was surprised that my local superstore didn't have anything quite tacky enough. So Baxter went all winter-white instead.
Baxter circa 2014
I have bucket loads of teaching coming up, both locally and not-locally. If you want to join in, you can check out my classes page. I am going to teach in Ballan, Gisborne, Tasmania, Warracknabeal, Sydney, Melbourne, back to Warracknabeal (and how does New Zealand sound?)
I had to get a yearly planner to keep track of myself, but now I have to remember to coordinate it with the diary in my hand bag and the calendar inside the pantry.
(this from a woman who can't remember where she parked the car when she leaves the supermarket)
and Finn, who has no calendar and no diary and no idea of today , tomorrow or handbags says Hi.
(Arse-sniffing notwithstanding- the whole dog thing sometimes appears to have a lot going for it).
Doggies have it sorted. We are the stupid ones (butt sniffing notwithstanding!). Any wonder they are called Dogs' days!
ReplyDeleteYour teaching is getting you around the country - you go girl! I love the idea of NZ, it's such a beautiful country.
Oh, my! I love fluffy snow white Baxter 2014.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for the consistency of a dog!
ReplyDeleteStill struggling to had west?? South Australia will be ready whenever you are!!!
ReplyDelete**head west!!!
DeleteHandsome Finn! No cares in the world except for chasing things, eating, sleeping, and providing lots of love. I supposed he's used to a house full of toys like Baxter. I wonder if he helps with photo shoots. Happy to hear you're busy. I can only imagine the fun-ness of your classes.
ReplyDeleteHello to Finn - and to the new-look Persil-white Baxter (he looks fabulous, BTW) and of course to you, Jod. NZ, really? You'll love it - great people and spectacular scenery. Ah, you've made me homesick - even after 40 years in Oz I still think of NZ as home.
ReplyDeleteBaxter looks very handsome. So does Finn, come to think of it. Congrats on all that teaching keeping you out of trouble. Well, mostly, maybe?
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have missed Hilltop, UK off your list of teaching venues. Get onto that wouldya??
ReplyDeleteThe new Baxter is very elegant... kind of like City Baxter and Country Baxter.
ReplyDeleteReading Jan's comment about your Persil white Baxter made me realise he does look EXACTLY like the white long haired hamster I had as a child who, to give him his full title, was called Persil Automatic Jaws Gnasher Lovel! Xx
ReplyDeletehave fun jet setting around Jods, love your new baxter.xx
ReplyDeleteDogs have the best life - well ours do anyways :). Love the new Baxter - oh if you could have gotten pink he could have been Punk Baxter - add a few well placed piercings LOL
ReplyDeleteOther more techno savvy people then me, tell me they use their phone diary. I just use my handbag diary and what doesn't make it in there I forget to do! And I always part in the same section of the carpark...never got over losing the car in a multistory car park in Sydney with a screaming baby in tow - a lesson learned for life!
ReplyDeleteWinter BAxter is adorable! And so is Finn. So fluffy!
ReplyDeleteNew Zealand, huh? Let me know if you'd like to borrow a copy of The crafty girls' road trip... (http://beattiesbookblog.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/crafty-girls-road-trip-beautifully.html)
ReplyDeleteI feel a bit like Baxter - my fur is much whiter than it was in 2011 too.
ReplyDeleteHappy teaching !
why am i thinking about the wombles?
ReplyDeleteSo when to you get to come to the UK? Love the snowy Baxter.
ReplyDeleteSo I have to tell you how I remember where I've parked my car because I, too, have hit the age when I walk out and nothing looks like it did when I went in. It occurred to me that there's a reason it looks different - I'm facing another direction. Now, after I get to the door of the store, I turn around and look back in the direction my car is parked so I know where I'm headed when I leave (most useful in large malls). Sometimes I even make note of the displays near the door when I go in a department store that has multiple entrances (or I try to go in the same door every time).
ReplyDeleteI've become my mother. In addition to forgetting where my car is, I do a panicked key and cell phone check when I'm out at least twice. I like to think it's because we have far more important things to remember!
I love the hedgehog makeover too!
Love the baxter make over makes you wanna snuggle him to keep him warm

The new Baxter is fabulous, not that the old one wasn't. Good luck with your teachings.
ReplyDeletelol, baxter looks all fab in white! don't judge the arse sniffing until you've tried it! wait, don't try it. it's probably smelly and certainly inappropriate! ;p
ReplyDeletehmmm, does finn know you're leaving? we have to hide the suitcase from our dog. she becomes very forlorn about it all. ;p
He's aged! Must have had a lot to worry about our Baxter, like where he parked the car.
ReplyDelete*how did I miss this earlier, didn't appear in my blogroll!*
I do like Baxter's new coat, but rainbow would be very fun.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break.
