Some real life

Yesterday morning Granny Boo passed away very peacefully. She simply drifted off , which I think is a damn fine exit after 103 years .

So for the next little bit its all about the family and arrivals and the guests and the catering and the details. Next Tuesday we will all be here, gathered to say Goodbye and to share her stories, and our stories.

I did wonder about telling you, but you know what, you're my friend and I wanted you to know.

I'll see you soon.

  38. 103 is a grand age Sending Hugs

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

  48. Rest peacefully Granny Boo.

My Grandad died a few years ago, in bed, while my Nana was talking to him. She only realised he'd gone when he didn't answer. No pain, no suffering, just a life well lived. Sounds like Granny Boo did the same though she had a good 20 years on him.

All my love to you and your family.

  51. I'm very sorry to hear that Granny Boo has gone, Jodi. The very strange thing is that last time you posted about her, I mentioned jokingly that we should introduce her to my Grandpa who was on the verge of his 99th birthday...well, sadly he passed away on Monday, just 2 weeks shy of his big day. What a wonder to have such a long life as they did. I am sure there will be many happy stories shared in the coming days. Enjoy your visits.
