So today is the end of the working week for me ...and it been a kind of prickly one - Not dreadful, but a bit uncomfortable - like bad undies....
and the toilet has finally given up the ghost. Regular real-life visitors will know it has been a bit of a disaster for a while...with strict directions about which button that could be pushed.
Well now it just runs constantly and the lid sits on the floor and.....its a disaster. (and we are in water restrictions and I am scared I won't be able to have a drink 'cause my dunny used all the water)

So I have a plumber who is THE BOMB.... He had me take photos of the toilet and email them to him, so he didn't waste a trip to check it out.... How cool is that ?
This week I met a new friend called Amit.... a lovely guy I am sure, but as I said earlier - it has been a bad undies week..... so when Amit wrote me a little comment (one of very very many comments about setting up a home -based business in India) saying "oh Great teacups"
well, I'm sorry to say words failed me and my general bonhomie had expired and the best I could do was " Oh get yourself totally and irrevocably stuffed "
Having spent hours this week (no exaggeration) wiping stupid advertising and crazy Viagra comments from posts as old as two years ago ) I have had enough !
I'm sorry that I am not witty or erudite or scathingly brilliant in my retorts...really I just want them bugger off.... simple as that !

oh, those bastards will cause you hell if you piss them off won't they! just remind yourself how sad their lives must really be if they have nothing better to do than spam craft blogs (??!!), then have some tequila slammers and a little lie down, you'll feel much better in the morning (or not!)
ReplyDeleteyay! first comment!!
ReplyDeleteI've had a few of those from AMIT and now I know exactly how to get rid of him/her , thanks so much I didn't realise just how simple it was going to be .
ReplyDeleteThat must give you the shits (both the toilet and the spam).
ReplyDeleteYou can put comment moderation on comments over a certain age (say 30 days).
It's so nice to get comments on your blog, but people like this just ruin it for everyone.
I have tears rolling down my cheeks at the thought of the look on Amte's face when he reads your comment. Seriously you aren't a bitch - you just write it the way the rest of us think it. Maybe the direct approach will tell these people to piss off - nothing else has worked. Hope tomorrow is a better more comfortable undies day.
ReplyDeleteMuch love
Catherine who thought she was the first to comment only Selena beat me to it...vbg.
I have to thank you for giving me a laugh... lucky I didn't stay long enough to need the toilet when I came to visit!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya and I'm with ya all the way! Tomorrow WILL be better ... or else!
ReplyDeleteReally? Amit has rung me lots of times this week - generally around dinner time or just as I sit down for five minutes of peace and quiet - to offer me a new phone plan and each time he mentioned how much he adored you and your wonderful blog...
ReplyDeleteI havent had the pleasure yet, and hopefully it stays that way! Good luck on the loo fix :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are a crack up Jodes! Hope your week gets better x
ReplyDeleteOh, big hug Jodie.
ReplyDeleteCan totally sympathise with both situations. For a laugh I was going to e-mail a photo of my faded mauve toilet from when it decided to self destruct last year. I found it in the photo library then realised how feral it really was, so I won't inflict that on you in your current state. ewwww
As for Amit I put comment moderation on for a while when he bugs me and/or block them from reading my blog.
Hoping a shiny brand spanker of a dunny finds you soon. xx
Bloody spammers, I have had the dis-pleasure of meeting them too. Delete. Report. Swear. Complain to husband.
ReplyDeleteHope the situations are remedied and the weekend is fantastic for you Jodie. :)
PS. They are great tea cups.
Big meanie. Sorry Jod laughing. Glad it wasn't me this time that accidently pushed the half flush.
ReplyDeleteHope it only gets better from here
Its so good to get mad! I lvoe it when you swear it makes my filthy mouth feel better..
ReplyDeleteOh dear...
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a good plumber, tradies can be a pain. I was just charged $66 for a sparky that was working 3 houses away to come and poke the clip back in place on my oven :(
Hope your loo is an easy fix! Those bloody viagra comments, I used to get them all the time and had to put on the comment authorisation, otherwise I had heaps of them. Now I get to reject them if they pop up although I still get heaps of emails telling me I have won millions, if only!!
ReplyDeleteHello there. This is not a spam comment :D I've been reading your blog for a long time and have just given u an award. http://falushtain.blogspot.com/2010/03/sunshine-blog-award.html
ReplyDeletesodding bastards.. I have been getting japanese spam for a bit, and before that it was russian, and something about tractors for a bit???? luckily my blog dosent get that much traffic otherwise I would be sewaring up a blue streak... I don't swear much but my parents taught me some very colourful swears and they use them quite liberally. :o)
ReplyDeleteYep, Japanese has been gracing my comment pages too the last month or so. Hope you told them where exactly to place the Viagra!!
ReplyDeleteHave a better weekend....
Lizzie

Thanks for the good laugh!! I love the way you just say it like it is :-0 Maybe we should all be a bit more honest like that?? Sorry to hear about the Indian heckler and also that the toilet problems, sounds like the plumber has it sorted tho....email him a photo...won't get that up here in FNQ for another 20 yrs :-)
ReplyDeleteProfanities and photos of a dysfunctional loo.
ReplyDeleteYou trying to get another Inspirational Blogger Award again love?
Gosh, I'm feeling left out because no one has bothered to spam me yet! I guess little fish are exempt. Sorry they're messing with you, but it sounds like you probably set him back on his ear!
ReplyDeleteJodie, I hope you get your toilet fixed and that it doesn't cost you too many of those adorable tea cups. I can really sympathize as we had water heater issues of our own in the last week.
I can't wait to get my pattern in the mail, I'm excited.
Oh my goodness - the best use of that great expletive I have seen in ages!
ReplyDeleteThank you for saying and doing what a lot of us would love to do, but just haven't!!
ReplyDeleteI want to congratulate you on your plumber. I have the opposite of your plumber: a fellow who shows up and, despite driving a giant van full of plumbing-type bits and pieces, asks if I have a flashlight, a bucket, a cup, a needle, another flashlight (which I don't, because I GAVE it to the plumber on his previous visit, and when reminded of this fact, reluctantly ambles the fifty feet to his giant van and pulls that very flashlight out of his toolbox)...well. There is ALWAYS some simple thing that "you really need, but I don't have one with me today" even when, literally, he has been to the house two days in a ROW to repeat the "fix" of the first visit, only correctly this time.
ReplyDeleteMay I please borrow your plumber? I will be happy to provide photos in advance of is visit! He will, however, have to come with a flashlight, as I am fresh out.
Go girl!Sometimes it just needs to be said!
ReplyDeletePotty problems--not good! A necessary thing. As for Viagra, Amit, etc...yes irritating. Do you know how many Toyota's I could have won if I'd only replied? And I could have been a mentor to Russian crafters for free! People need to get a life and find something better to do.
ReplyDeleteGo get them Jodie!! I do "blogger approval" for my comments as a) i spend more time on email for work & love the comments popping into my inbox & read/ reply/ approve as i please & b) reject all those stupid ones in foreign languages, spruiking bizarre websites & mainly anonymous. I delete the emails then reject them en masse through my dash board, it's quite therapeutic. Yes, many comments are for posts up to 2 years ago. Tidy housekeeping. I don't think/ hope people don't believe you're being uptight by not allowing unapproved comments, but saves me the exact hassle you're experiencing. We'll comment regardless. Love your work, love Posie
ReplyDeleteBlurry spammers!
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny! Wouldn't it be nice if you could stuff Amit in the loo??? Those guys drive me crazy!
ReplyDeleteGo get em' Jod. I've been spammed this week myself for the first time. It sucks getting rid of them all!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for your toilet, I'm seriously impressed with the plumber's service!
Wow! You are right. You actually are a bitch!
ReplyDeletePlumber requiring pictures emailed beforehand, is this a new part of the porn script I haven't read??
Spammers are the worst! But did you know you can set comment moderation for older posts only. Regular blog readers usually don't leave comments on old posts, but a lot of spammers do. So I have set up comment moderation for posts older than 10 days. That way I can catch most of them in one sweep in my inbox (easily recognized because they are almost always anonymous).
ReplyDeleteJust go to your blogger settings it is easy to do.
haha, good for you!! I totally empathize with that no-bs kind of good.
ReplyDeleteHeehee! Thanks for making me laugh...I needed it!! And I thought I was having a bad week!!!!! ;o)
ReplyDeleteHe he, you're such a breath of fresh air. If only I had the balls to say what I really think on my blog sometimes. Yay for crafters that curse!
ReplyDeleteOh god I am laughing so much ... then I saw your tag ... Jodies got the shits on! Classic!
ReplyDeleteThank you for brightening my less than inspiring week too.
Good on ya. Let it rip! sometimes you just have to. I feel a bit like that this week so I'm in good company!!
ReplyDeleteI will think of you every time I feel like saying that in real life, and I can think "Nope, I don't have to say that - Jodie already said it for me!" That's what friends are for, after all. Think I'd better sticky tape my gob, though, in case I end up channeling you! Have a great (or at least better) weekend, Jodie!
ReplyDeleteno you're not a bitch! You really brighten my life. Flush the Spammers!
ReplyDelete"not witty or erudite or scathingly brilliant...."Piffle, I say, you make my tummy rumble with laughter!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAMIT has haunted our blog too. Lisa from 'A Spoonful of Sugar' recommended comment moderation on posts older than 2 weeks -it seems to have worked :)
ReplyDeleteoh I am totally over Amit who visited here too.......
ReplyDeleteI have comment moderation turned on for post over 5 or 10days and that cut out trying to delete comments on older posts as I reject them before they get to the blog..........
Oh and just to piss you off a little more I see someone tagged you...........LOL..........wetting myself LOL at this......they should be scared really scared.........lol........I know you LOVE being tagged............NOT........have a great day.......
Well you're one fabulous fucking bitch in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI've been copping a tonne of it lately too.
I say that telling a creepy spammer to go fuck themselves does NOT make you a bitch. But if it does, then go fuck yourself, creepy spammer signed A. Notherb. Itch.
ReplyDeleteNor does getting prickly about a bad loo. You are a good and kind and funny person, I've met you and I KNOW!!
you go girl! we all know you're not a bitch but I get so many spam emails in my store inbox driving me nuts! I get more spam than i get proper emails and that is saying something because I'm kept busy with the genuine ones!!!!!
ReplyDeletelet's hope they got the message
Corrie:)
Never left a comment on a blog before but that was the funniest thing I have read for a long time. Give them heaps.
ReplyDeleteHa ha aha, man I hate those blog spammers. Can I get the name of this cool plumber? I can swap you for a brilliant chippie or an awesome tiler.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't the slightest doubt in my mind that Amit will never again admire a teacup.
ReplyDeleteomg that was the best read I've had in ages. Thanks for lifting my spirits. You go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for being a bitch if it stops those idiots spamming!
ReplyDeleteAt least they can't be in any doubt as to your true feelings :)
xxx
p.s. nice teacups!
LMAO!!
ReplyDeletecan you please add a spit warning??
....as in "this is WAYYY funny, you may spit beverage everywhere"
haven't seen such creative cussing in a blog before
Oooh you're one feisty bitch and i love it!
ReplyDeletethis is so funny Jodie and good on you they are a pain in the arse I often get Asian ones the whole bloody comment is in Asian, do they think I am that stupid I am going to just leave it there, christ knows what it says. Zoe can read Japanese but they are in something else so I just delete them straight away. Do you remember John? he soon fucked off didn't he, he is probably named Amit now!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHhmmm... I've had my own issues recently with asian spam on my blog but I've just found a way to scare them off. I'll tell them I know that 'fwuckin' lady Jodie at Ric Rac. Yeah... that'll do it!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be a bitch sometimes!
ReplyDeleteoh how did I miss this post, couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting Amitted at the moment too the bugger and I also have a dodgy toilet button that is getting worse. Hope this is not an indication it is heading down the same path as you are too far from me to steal your plumber. I think my problem is the over enthusiastic toilet flushing 2 yr old
ReplyDeleteJodie, you do make it laugh! I'd love to tell someone to F**k Off, but frankly, I'm too English and reserved!
ReplyDeleteI do think it though, and shout it a lot when I'm in the car by myself!
Regarding prickly work situations - I hear you loud and clear. sigh.

P.S. What an excellent word verification I have today: Flurb!
Hey Jodie, hmmm I think Amit is a friend of mine, yes we did have tea once, long time ago...IN HIS DREAMS lol those bastards to try befriending quilters - strange hey.
ReplyDeleteI think you can say how you feel because people like that are a PITA (pain in the ass)...anywho love the tea party for real and your adorable fabrics and too bad we couldn't all share this story over a cup.

My sympathies- on 2 fronts. My blog has also been blessed by odd comments about someone wanting me to work from home in India (or something like that) and my toilet is also leaking with the lid sitting on the floor. Let me know if yours needs an $80 odd small piece of mass produced plastic to fix it- as I suspect mine does.
ReplyDeleteYou said that oh so perfectly!!
