I made a wee quilt
and I think its O.K.
I tried hand quilting for the first time.
and I used pearle cotton , 'cause everyone raves about it.
I practised my wonky french knots......
BUT
My little girl has nothing to say...........any suggestions???
You know what ? I don't think having nothing to say will be a problem on Saturday.
Great people are coming and I know Ballarat is kinda in the middle of nowhere, but some delightful Melbourne bloggers are coming along by train and by car and Silly Gilly (maybe that name means something ) is actually driving over from Adelaide and planning to stop at every op-shop she passes.......
Come on , jump on the train, get in the car - it'll be fun and I am even going to cook a cake !!!
( I am using a flourless cake recipe for those of you who may be concerned).
Beautiful little quilt. If only I could think of something witty she could say!. Maybe she could say "Nighty night".
ReplyDeletelovely little quilt. LOve the stitchng.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I can never think of anything witty or funny either.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm how about "I'm just pearly"
It's tres joli =)
ReplyDeleteGolly Miss Molly!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! i think is fine even without words then the little people can make up their own. Cherrie
ReplyDeleteI love to quilt with Perle Cotton!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great. I think she should say something subversive like, "What are you lookin' at?"
You have some really cute ideas! Maybe your little quilt girl could be asking a question such as, "What?"
ReplyDelete"where's my f-ing coffee?" no that would probably just be me.... H would probably say she needs to be whistling the indiana jones theme tune....his latest obsession.. *whistles innocently and offkey* ahem that would be my influence..
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely meet up...*sends virtual brownies and cups of coffee*
What a gorgeous little quilt! I love the colours, and your embroidery is just lovely. But as for what to say? Looking forward to Saturday, may be back to catching the train again (more crochet time), shall let you know!
ReplyDeleteA lovely quilt Jodie - so what did you think of the perle thread. It looks fabulous. I unfortunately can't make it on Saturday as I'm working. I hope you all have heaps of fun!
ReplyDeleteI am horrible at thinking up witty comments so instead I will just sit smugly over here because I know that now you've mad one mini quilt, you will make more. It happens to all of us. It's a DISEASE and you just can't stop! Next comes the mini quilt wall, just you wait and see.
ReplyDeletePS: if you ever want to swap minis, I'm your lady.

I think she would say, "This is the most beautiful quilt".
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely little girl.
ReplyDeletehow about "oh, pickles" ... for no other reason than the fact that my 4 year-old daughter says it and it makes me laugh every time! : )
ReplyDeleteYour little quilt is soooo adorable!
ReplyDelete"Wanna snuggle?"
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute, by the way.
I love this quilt. You did a great job hand-quilting, that can sometimes be rough if you want even stitches. You did swell. Maybe the girl could say, "I didn't do it."
ReplyDeleteOh my the saying was going to put is the same as erica "I didn't do it." She looks so sweet and innocent. So how about "it wasn't me."
ReplyDeleteDARLING little quilt and your hand quilt is terrific.
Pretty!
ReplyDeleteMy little girl allways comes in asking me to "guess wich hand..." she has something to show me in.
How about "I want to go to Locket's house!"
ReplyDeleteShe/the mini quilt would be in very good company on my wall after all!
Locket xx
How about, 'Cake? What cake?'
ReplyDeleteI would love to come on Saturday, but unfortunately there isn't a decent bus service from the UK... darn it!
I have a feeling getting a word in edgeways on Saturday may be more of an issue....'specially with Trasha there ;-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe little girlie is saying 'Would you just shut up and listen?'
Gorgeous mini-quilt Jodie. Beautiful stitching. Delicious colours. Needs to come and live here.
xxx
What she should say is , I want to live at jane's house. but how about Wanna Play?
ReplyDeleteIt is just wonderful, a great job!
Maybe she could say "Ric Rac Rocks", which kind of sounds old fashioned, and a bit like Tic Tac Toe. I love your quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhy why do I lust over so much of the stuff you make>
ReplyDeleteOh yes _ because it is beautiful!
dear blog owner,
ReplyDeletei demand you cease talking about all the fun you intend to get up to on Saturday. This fact is casusing me much distress as you know i cannot attend.
Yours always in a nice shade of green,
the owner of an other blog.
xoxo
I agree with Fi you are making us all jealous with this get together. Love the little quilt though. Not good with witty comments sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Fi as well. If I was the quilt girl I'd be saying a rude word to you ;)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am pretty sure she's been rendered speechless by the lady who doth not quilt, quilting.
oh hang on a minute - TRASH is going too? Now that just really takes the........
ReplyDeleteUm...."Ooops, I farted" comes to mind....or is that slightly uncouth for a little girl who looks so sweet?
ReplyDeleteIf you ask me, I think that girl looks guilty as all hell (well, she has the exact pose that Kate puts on when she's done something naughty). Personally, I think she's saying "Kitty did it". I reckon she's a 'blame the cat' kinda girl :P
ReplyDeleteHave fun on Saturday - sounds like a great day!
What a gorgeous 'wee' quilt!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure when she does finally say something it will be memorable! Saturday sounds like such fun-enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYour wee quilt is much better than OK. It is lovely!
ReplyDeletePerhaps she should be saying "but I'm just a wee girl..."
'It wasn't me!'
ReplyDeleteLove the red around the green.
Okay, I would have that quilt in my home, easy. How cute is that??
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so jealous of your get together. Boo. :p
Shabby Cottage seems to be thinking the same as me...! I think you do such stunning work! BTW - Molly Dolly update - she and Miss 2 are both running around in just undies at the moment - Molly's idea - hiding their clothes in the garden and getting up to mischief! LOVE HER! Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI think she is so cute, I don't know if she needs to say anything. I love your stitching. Maybe "Hey Jude."
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she's saying, "I have to go potty."
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt. Its very pretty!
I think she should say, "Saturday", just because your entire post as well as all the comments are about saturday. And also, it's pretty random. It's a conversation starter about what you love doing..... Because you did it on saturday!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Jodie this darling little quilt bears a striking resemblance to the very first quilt you showed us. I liked that one a lot, too. She could say, "Who, me?"
ReplyDeleteI've just discovered your blog (so you're the crafter that made that incredible dress!) I love what you do, I'm also a button and trim manic. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteNancy
...oh and I hope you don't mind, I just added a link to your blog on my blog.

O.k.? O.K.????? It's more than o.k., it's frippin' adorable!!! I think she should say "My Mama's Amazing". Or, as a second vote, I'll go for what Lucy said. I WOULD be perfect for her mini wall LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat's the cutest quilt. I think she looks a little bit naughty. Maybe she's saying Wasn't me. Dolly did it.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! How about "Lemon Detox Diet" post Xmas binges for everyone?
ReplyDeleteHave fun and sew lots!
What do you do when there is some place you want to go and there's no one to mind the kids .... you bring them with! So don't look now we're all coming!
ReplyDelete(Oh God that's so corny I'm boring myself ... sorry!)
You'll have to let us know about the cake. Sounds like fun. Love the quilt. I love white like that. It gives you so much space to enjoy the green. She's a doll. I can think of lots to have her say but it should be very special!
ReplyDeletehow about
ReplyDelete1. the dog ate my homework...
2. it wasn't me, but the beans...
3. who you calling a girl??
can't think of anything funny acutally...
looks good.. I love perle thread too.. I use it all the time (well all the time I do sewing stuffs)
Lissa
I think she should say, "Make mine a double."
ReplyDeleteI think she's a beautiful but possibly quite rude little girl, so she's saying "get knotted!" (as in french knots of course!)
ReplyDeleteI was so spewing I couldn't make it to Ballarat - actually, I could've if I caught a 7.30am train from Frankston and then trained it for 3 hours, but I was too lazy. Holiday mode took over, I'm sorry. I am impressed with the Adelaidian! I would have loved to have met You Guys! Trash seems a lot like you - I could have sat back and listened to you two banter all day.
ReplyDeleteI am sure this is not rude enough for you Jodie, but how about the bubble saying "Life a Perle"
Sorry - that was meant to be "Life's a Perle" but you worked that out, right?
ReplyDeleteshe could be like joey from friends...
ReplyDelete"how you doin'?"
but i gotta tell ya...
ReplyDeletei love john's "oh, pickles."
that's SUPER cute!!!
I love it! I think that she would say "heavens to betsy!"
ReplyDeletelove your wee quilt! so dainty!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is adorable. I love your style.
ReplyDeletei LOVE LOVE LOVE the little quilt. it's adorable.
ReplyDeleteIs that a Darger girl? She looks so familiar. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just a newby with this whole bloggy thing-pretty hopeless but it takes something spesh like your yummy Ric Rac goodies, fantabulous humour and talent to get me all inspired AND take the time to work out this new fangled computer thingy (yep I'm not even 30 yet)!
ReplyDeleteJust came back from Nepal, so maybe she could be saying 'Namaste' (which means hiya), or
'I like almonds'
:)
So, jodie, did you decide on what your little wee quilt girl will say? :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a fairly small looking speech bubble so I think she should just say "Fab!" because that would explain everything ( like how fabulous that quilt is!!!! )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work of course, as always :)
