I love Sedef's book but I had a hard time choosing a project- lots of quilty things and some EPP  ( which I do not speak at all). There are place mats, pot holders, sewing organisers, cushions and table toppers.  There are a few different techniques in the book as well;  foundation paper piecing, regular patchwork, three different methods of applique, hand-embroidery and hand quilting. The projects are all very and sweet and whimsical and I tossed up a few and procrastinated a lot before I set myself the challenge of making a gift from the book and gave myself only a morning to do it.

When I saw this project I immediately thought of a friend and knew that she would adore something like this. I also knew that this (for me at least) was not going to be a quick project so I used the templates for the bakery and made the cutest linen tea-towel ever !!!

This project was so much fun to make and so super quick that I have cut out the other two buildings and my friend will soon be the recipient of a little tea-towel trio. I also added my friends name to a little sign above the door !!!

I have a copy of Quilt Petite book to give away to one of you lucky people - to enter go for a sticky-beak on line and tell me which project you would like to make from the book. You can see heaps of great projects on the other blogs. Just leave a comment and I will pick a winner at random by the end of the week!

There is also a great giveaway on Sedef’s blog,  that is open until the end of the tour –  the winner will be announced on the final day.
Big cheers friends.

  1. Whilst I adore the cover of the book because those red shoes are just killing me with cuteness, I think the best pattern would have to be the Placemats with the little insert pocket for utensils. In fact, I think my kids need those placements in their lives, it would save meal-time madness in my house!!

  2. I love those placements - I am thinking Xmas ones... thankfully it is just me and hubby this year for Xmas so I could possibly even get them made in time! :)

  3. I can never have too many cushion covers and the cute factor on Sedef's Bonjour Cushion makes it top on my list of must makes.
Thanks for the chance to win a copy, Jodi! Loving the tea towel - lucky friend!

  4. I would start with the Bonjour cushion cover so I could use my 'collection' of Liberty fabrics. Thank you Jodie for the chance to win this lovely book.

  5. I love the cushion on the front cover but I really love the little doll sleeping bag. I know a couple of little girls who would love at least one of those for their dollies.
Must say Jodes, I am disappointed that you went with this project, surely you could have found a mugrug to sew and use in your office. 😜

  6. Ohhh I have admired this book for a long time. I would love to make the cute little bakery on a tea towel as well..... perfect for me as working in the bakery! Plus those place mats and a cushion or 2.... awww shucks the whole damn book is full of cuteness I can't decide.... If I have the book I will make one of everything!

  7. So many adorable items to make and it's wonderful to see what all these talented people have made! Not easy to choose, but I'd start out small with the cute little pinwheel quilt and I'd love to have end up with a goal of the little bakery and make a pillow. Thank you for the chance to win a beautiful book!

  9. Wow! You sent me down a rabbit hole with that list of gorgeous blogs to look at. I would love that book and would need to make the pillow cover on the front because it has Liberty fabric, free motion embroidery and it says 'Bonjour' what more could I ask? In fact, if I don't win it, I'm putting it on my Christmas list which means I won't get it because every year, I get asked for a list and every year it is wilfully ignored.
    Love your t-towel projects too.

  11. I've been looking at this book and dreaming what project I would try first. But then I saw your idea of tea towels! I have collected tea towels for years and now know this would be my first project. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of this sweet book.
