In my world
I read Vic's blog and she reads mine and we chat and we sometimes hello or "like' on bookface. In my mind Vic is one of my friends - she is just one I don't see very often.
Recently on my blog I mentioned my obsession with Little Red Riding Hood .

Tis a lonely life
To be honest she is not doing anything very exciting anyway, She has a basket of half-done stuff and occasionally a dog will get stuffed or a head will be attached. Long car trips are actually a 'sit down and rest bonus" at the moment.

One new toy is trying desperately to emerge but he is fighting an almost pathological obsession with screen printing that will definitely result in "she-who-owns-the-blog building herself a mobile screen printing press. (As soon as time permits).

She is home today, and as usual expected to achieve 50 things before breakfast. She thought about some stuff, she talked on the phone about some stuff, she should be emailing some people, she needs to buy some clamps, she needs to think about dinner and she probably should have responded to her son's SOS about being at school with no lunch - but she blogged.

Who's that there in the dark?
Well due to the craziest of crazy worlds which is blogland - I'm going to be at Melbourne Zoo watching a fantastic concert.
That's right, having said no to the rugs, and lighting, and blingy jewellery and knee high fake tattoo tights and the car accessories and about a thousand other completely unrelated "free" things I have been offered in return for some blog time/space......
Someone gave me something for being a blogger (How weird is that?)
So tomorrow Mr Ric-Rac and I are going to be guests of the Earth-Hour unplugged concert at Melbourne Zoo. Apparently they are having some sort of blogger thingo and lots of Melbourne bloggers will be there. (shhh don't tell them Ballarat is not Melbourne).
and you know the very very best thing...... in return for invitations to this event and what I am guessing is going to be a great fun evening......Do you know what they wanted? How much blog time / space /placement of flashing lights and automated bells and whistles they demanded ???
Zip ! Nada ! Nothing !
Which, of course is why I am telling you.
(That, and it would be pretty cool to save the planet , cause you have to know, crafting on the moon with that weird no-gravity thing is going to be a killer)

Mrs Big-head
If you have popped in to find out more about crafting or blogging or crafty blogging I'd like to say Hi, I'm Jodie and I'm pleased to meet you !

What I didn't know then was just how much I would love blogging, and how important it would become to me. I have made so many friends, both on-line and in real life through blogging. I have taken part in some great blogmeets and of course the Stitches and Craft show earlier this year. Without the encouragement and support that all the people who visit my blog give me, there would never have been a Selvedge dress, or a craft clock, or doll patterns , or Parsley and Beet. So while I say Hi and Welcome to anyone popping in for the first time - I really want to say thanks to all the readers, commentors and lurkers who inspire me every day to get off my ever-expanding butt and put some of my crazier ideas to the test!
If you have no idea about any of this bloggy stuff, please don't feel like you have arrived late at a party.....join in, leave a comment, make a suggestion- Blogland is a huge place and you will be sure to find someone just as crazily obsessed with a particular craft as you are. Over on the side bar, down toward the bottom -you'll see the Big Blog roll - that would be a great place to get started-just pick one you like the name of , and click away! Or if I have baffled you totally, Just click on view my profile and you can shoot me an email. I'm not a blogging expert by any means , but I'll give it my best shot!
Who knows you may even want to start a blog of your very own !

What have you got to lose - I'll whip up a cake while you pop the kettle on.
